• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rear Fender Vibration

Well, once again I have lost a liscense plate due to either vibration, wind resistance, or a combination of both. I discovered last night that all that was left of my liscense plate was the two top corners that my replacement screws with fender washers and lock nuts were holding...

    Fault Code P0707 ???

Got this code nultiple times this weekend, along with the "E" in the gear position indicator intermittently, and flashing "R" and "N" pilot lights. When I got it to the dealer, the service manual didnt have this code listed, and the BUDS download showed it had not stored. I know I wasnt...

    My DPS Replacement experience

I picked up my Spyder last night from its scheduled service and DPS replacement. Drives like a champ! My first failure was last spring on the way to Daytona after the software update. I had the typical lockup then release with oversteer. Scared the bejeezus outta me. I got the DPS replaced...

    Installed the EVO Sway Bar.

Got the Spyder all back together last night. I spread the work out over about 3 days, only because its SO HOT in the garage here in TX. Total hours spent on it was about 2.5 to 3 from start to finish. It was alot easier than I imagined it would be. Havent had a chance to ride it yet, but...

Does anyone know what they call the software update for the surging power issue? Is itb a specific "campaign" number or update number? My dealer never researches issues, just installs whatever BUDS says is due on my serial number.:helpsmilie:

    Pingel Customer Service

Just a quick post to let you know about some pretty good customer service. I bought a Pingel Electric Shifter from a third party Supplier (not directly from Pingel) earlier this year. I had some issues installing it and called their customer support. After sending a few emails and pictures...

    My turn with steering issues

Well, it happened. Had my bike in for a 12K service before daytona, and they did the ECM update / vent reroute, as well as the DPS software update. It had a few coughs in the engine, but I figured Id give it time to reset (maybe???) The real issue was about 100 miles outta Houston on the way...

A little off topic: Used Wheelchair source?

I have been temporarily in a wheelchair for the last 3 months due to foot problems caused by diabetes. I have permanent issues with my feet that have left me in braces on both feet for quite some time, if not indefinitely. First of all, it has given me a MUCH greater appreciation of what you...

    LittleJohn's Last Mod

OK, I did my first last real mod this past weekend. I bought and installed the Kewlmetal mirror extensions. First, let me say they are worth every penny, at least for me. Now instead of a perfect view of my shoulders, I can see whats behind me all the way up through my blind spot. Looks like...

Nice surprise from my insurance agent.

Just a quick note to give some kudos where they belong. When I got my Spyder back in the beginning of July, I shopped around quite a few places for insurance. Turns out Nationwide was just getting into the business of insuring motorcycles, and I already had my home and auto with them, so they...

    What brand Clutch Master Cylinder?

Anyone know what brand name the clutch Master cylinder is? I know theres what appears to be an "HB" on mine. I was hunting around for brake master cyliders to make my hand brake and thought it might be nice to try and match them. All im finding in the bigger size pistons is the high dollar...

    Tank Bag Idea

I havent done this yet, but plan on looking into it. I thought Id share this idea with all of you in case any of you want to try it as well. Ive seen other "plastic" bike owners remedy the limited tank bag selection in the following way. Find a magnetic tank bag that meets your size / shape...

    Just got back!!!

...From my maiden long trip on the Spyder. Im now ready for the first service. Had a BLAST. Im starting to get used to the handling and now dont feel so terrified about how wide it is and dont look at the wheels in turns as much. Makes for a much smoother ride (just like on a 2 wheeler!!)...

    I can't think straight!!!!

I just got the call from my dealer. They got a surprise delivery of a silver :spyder:. I had the first deposit down, before they even told me they were continuing the "certificate" process, so had a standing order and agreement that I had dibs on the first one off the truck. I really thought I...

    Shouldn't be long now!!!!!!

I went to a dealer north of Houston (Conroe) when I found out they were gonna be a dealer (Ealrly March 08). They hadnt announced it yet, but I put down the first deposit on one. He wanted $500, fully refundable if I backed out. When they announced they were going to be a :spyder: dealer, the...
