• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This was Too Close to an 'accident'!

IMHO when we civilians start turning each other into authorities when no actual 'crime' is committed, we've forgotten what this country was founded for. I thought the Gestapo was dis-banned! I get just as annoyed as everyone else when an A-hole is encountered but I move on - not letting an...

Are people throwing better shocks at their trike first, instead of better tires?

500 miles - sway bar 1000 miles - Kendas in dumpster 3000 miles - Elka fronts 30000 miles Elka rear (air bag died)

Any Modification recommendations from those who tour on their Spyders?

Keep in mind if the outside air temp is higher than your body temp, air flow is like a hair dryer ADDing heat to your body. As I stated above, you can create your own eco-system by sealing out the elements. Yes, it's warm but bare skin or mesh is hot. Wind chill isn't chilly in 100+ IMHO.

Blackstone Results for Amsoil 5W40 Metric Oil in my 2022 RT S2S

Lots of numbers but what does any of it mean to a mere human? I live in a temperate climate, rarely goes below 10 or above 95F. My RT struggles to turn over in the cold (un-heated shed) yet is crisp to start in warmer temps. Battery is fresh and tendered. In my uneducated mind I believe 5w-40/50...

Any Modification recommendations from those who tour on their Spyders?

Rain happens and then it doesn't. And then it does. Separate Rain gear is annoying because 1st you see it coming so you stop to don the gear. Rain hits - maybe 5 minutes - and the sun pops out roasting you. You either roast or stop to remove the gear and 10 minutes later, more rain. Simple...

Spyder vs Gold Wing Reverse Trike - anyone have experience?

It comes down to whether you feel you can maintain a 'Frankenstein' Honda or an engineered from ground up Spyder. Both engines will run forever so features are the 2nd check box in deciding.

Looking for feedback on Using Cardo vs Sena on a Shoei GT Air III?

I have both systems, Cardo & Sena. Helmet brand aside, The Cardo intercom system is better than the Sena's. Especially in heavy rain or interstate speeds. Sena's VOX control thinks wind noise is speech and opens the mic so everyone can listen to your hissing. Sena 50 IS NOT WATERPROOF and can...

Why has the Mid-West become a Spyder Rally Wasteland???

Rallies seem to be going the way of annual motorcycle shows. For years I went to the NYC Motorcycle Show with a group of friends. Long before Covid, the shows began to shrink with less brands of bikes and fewer gear selections. They were replaced by either 'wider aisles' and/or unrelated to...

Anyone going back and forth from their Spyder to a motorcycle?

I ride both depending on weather or distance. I have no problems jumping from one to other. It's automatic. I do find me occasionally reaching for handlebar levers on the Spyder though.

How common are 2021 RT Ltd air suspension failures?

That price needs to be negotiated down. Maybe offer paying that 'Out the door'? I have a 2020 RT Base (not auto-leveling). The airbag (same as the LTD) began to leak after 4 yrs/35k mi. I replaced it with an Elka shock. The only other problem was a bad brake switch. After 6 years/45k mi I'd...

Thoughts on my first SS1000 with the Spyder

Range is the 1 thing I dislike about my RT. I carried a 1.75 gal Rotopax on my Yellowstone trip. Note my avatar- gas container on the rear rack under helmet bag.

Severe Front end wobble while braking at slow speed - anyone else? Any thoughts?

Odds are good that by replacing rotors/pads will solve your problem. Warped rotors are not uncommon.

    Something new in helmets!

It will be years before the USA approves this design. Not for me, I love modulars.

Is there a Preheating system for the Spyder RT? Any recommendations?

I ride year-round with Spyder in an un-heated shed. Temps down to 15F in winter. I start the engine in neutral (after having backed in last ride) to reduce starter load, gear up, and by then, engine idling - ready to go. I've done this with all previous bikes (minus reverse) with no issues.

Planning on riding Southern NJ to Raleigh NC (June '26) - Any Recommendations/Suggestions Please?

So, Jersey to Raleigh is ~400 miles, 7.5 hrs of slab time, so easy enough to do in 1 day to get an extra day visiting. However, slab sucks, so look at some of the State and US Highways. There's lots of open space between towns, but lights and cross traffic can be annoying. You could go East and...
