• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    First Ever Spyder Ride

Thanks for all the thoughts so far. With my two wheeler I did quite a bit of touring. Weekend rides to week long rides. Mostly one up, but my girlfriend likes to ride as do both of my daughters. So I'm thinking the 1330 is probably best long term. Which likely means the RT. But I like the...

    First Ever Spyder Ride

Dear Lady??? Lol. That was funny. While my handle is MyEleanor, that was due to my Mustang (think Gone in 60 Seconds). My real name is Eric. Although no way you could have known. thanks for the laugh. And the advice on the 998.

    First Ever Spyder Ride

Thanks Highwayman, thanks for the note about the F3. I don't thing I was aware of the gearing change for the F3. So maybe my comparison with the 998 will be a bit off. I was hoping to replicate how the motor in an RT would feel.

    First Ever Spyder Ride

F3 Test Ride Chupaca, I am test riding the F3 more to get a feel for the 1330 motor than the F3 itself. My dealer doesn't have a newer model RT I can test ride to see the difference between the two power plants. So the F3 is as close as I can get.

    First Ever Spyder Ride

Today I took a test ride on a 2014 STS. I have been thinking about a Spyder for a while now and figured I needed to try one out first. My initial impression is positive. It is very different from a motorcycle (as many of you have already observed). I was surprised at how much I was pulled to...

2013 Heat Issue I have read several posts about folks with heat issues on their 2013 Spyder. I have been thinking about that and can't figure out why some have them and some don't. Presumably, they are all built the same at the factory. Engines are no doubt built within close tolerances and...

More Questions As I have been surfing the Can-Am website, reading the 2014 brochure and checking out posts, a couple more thoughts came to me. First one is regarding vibration. How much vibration do you feel through the hand grips at speed/RPM? For some reason, my hands seem to tingle after...

Thanks Dang. Fortunately between the Vic and today I had the BMW which was also a high revving motor. So I got used to being in a higher RPM range than the Vic. The Beemer was happiest around 4K or so. I presume the Spyder will be the same. Although the 2014's with the 6th gear are supposed...

I'm Officially Infatuated I just returned from one of the local dealers who sell Spyders. I sat on both the ST and RT. Both 2013's. I found both comfortable but the RT in particular. Even the back seat was plush. Not sure how it will be after many hours in the saddle but one of the most...

Thanks Folks, thanks for the responses so far. I do realize that a test drive will be in order. Particularly since the Spyder is fundamentally different than a two wheeler. I have a doctor appointment in a couple hours and will swing by a local dealer that carries Spyders to sniff around a...

Hi. I do not currently own a Spyder but am considering one in the hopefully near future. I have been reading through the posts and have a few questions I guess. A little about me first. Like most of you I am coming from several two wheelers. I have been riding off and on since the mid to...
