• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2014 RT ECO Mode

I'll have to dig out the brp literature (which is a sales pack included in my workshop manual) but it softens the throttle curve so that max throttle in eco is only iirc 60% of normal throttle opening. So it's like restricting your throttle to 60%. I don't use it either, lame imho. If I want 60%...

Vibration between 70 and 80 MPH?

Both mine and my wife's have this, around 80 and 4k rpm in top. I think it may be harmonics from the belt, it's a drive through vibration. Mine seems to be better with miles but it may just be me getting used to it.

    Going to a car tire

Out of curiosity, if anyone gets the opportunity, could they weigh the stock tyre vs a car tyre? particularly the front ones. If bike is 2 ply and car 4 ply could the reason be to reduce unsprung weight and to allow more flex to alleviate strain off the steering components? (At the expense of...

    2014 RT silencer options

I definately do not want obnoxious. Saying that, my stock pipe is getting louder all the time. I wonder if the packing used in the silencer burns away with the heat, there is some serious heat coming out of that pipe after a spirited run. I saw the vid of the TB system and it didn't sound too...

    2014 RT silencer options

Hadn't really thought about it. It was more for cosmetics and a little more sound. I'll be blacking mine out to RT-S type spec and all my muffler heat shields are silver, by the time I powder coat the oe shields etc may as well go for a sports muffler and get some extra sound and better looks...

    2014 RT silencer options

Thanks Chaps, Funny that no one seems to want to get on board with these, perhaps the V-twin versions never sold that well to warrant them making ones for the triple. Both Yoshimura and Mivv offer them for the twins. Looks like a Two Brothers it might end up being then. Cheers Nito

    2014 RT silencer options

Looking at silencer options at the moment, I have spoken to Yoshimura and Mivv neither of whom are planning to offer a silencer for the 1330 ACE engine. Pity as I really fancied the Yoshi tri oval carbon can. Pretty much leaves; Akrapovic Two Brothers Racing (Dos Bros Tacos) Any others out...

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

I'm getting 25.5-32.5mpg on mine but hoping to see an improvement as I don't think I'd been brimming the tank fully before. Our gallons are bigger than yours too. Nice to know they are capable of big mpg but I'm not seeing it on our winding country roads, up and down the gearbox and I'm...

2014 RT SE6 stalling when put into gear.

I suspect it's a tiny bit of clutch drag, just enough to lower the revs at idle, stalling the bike.

    Temporarily Disable VSS?

Napper, what do you mean by "wheel left"? {edit...do you mean wheel lift?} On my Subaru I rigged up a switch that could set the system up to turn off VDC and ABS, or, disable the VDC and retain ABS. I believe Subaru also use a Bosch system so might try employing the same technique on mine to...

    Temporarily Disable VSS?

^ Hi Dave, If you're referring to putting the rear sensors on the front, sure it'll prevent any traction control kicking in and allow the rear to spin up, but this isn't where I'm coming from. It would be nice for a bit more slip but I don't want it to spin up and high side. Doing the above...

New member looking for nice folks

Another welcome from the UK. Congrats on the new Ryde. Myself and my wife have a 'his and hers' and we're delighted with them. Regards Nito

    Sena 20S

Keeping a close eye on these, think we'll be ordering up 4 headsets once we've seen how people are getting on with them. Might be a bit longer before they hit the UK. Cheers Nito

2014 RT SE6 stalling when put into gear.

My wife's bike has done this a few times, mine has done it once. I do tend to let the idle settle a little before engaging gear. Sometimes mine slips into reverse with no clunk whatsoever, super smooth slick engagement, other times I get an occasional clunk (just to combine the two current...

    Temporarily Disable VSS?

^ This. BRP, please offer us an optional accessory box with adjustable sports VSS settings. I'd like to see the ABS auto activation system be switcheable, so ABS is retained but the auto intervention aspect be switched off completely so it won't kick in and apply braking by itself when it...

    Temporarily Disable VSS?

From the sounds of it, it seems like the system has been refined over the years, I could learn to ride around it happily enough, but the VSS braking and subsequent lurching was a bit disconcerting. I wonder what the refinements to the new RSS VSS will be like? Would be nice if they could sell...

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

I use the same process Texas, This is what I mean, slowly getting fuel in with the handle withdrawn so the level is just above the vents. Being my first proper fill like this, it seemed to keep taking fuel but the level wasn't rising to the vents, or rather when it did it quickly dropped back...

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

I track my mileage with every tank on all my toys. With regards to filling the tank, I withdraw the nozzle fully so the auto cut doesn't come on and literally try to brim it so its almost up to the neck filler. Even withdrawing the pump and so you can see the fuel there, it still was taking...

    Temporarily Disable VSS?

I've never been a fan of electronic stability systems and the like. I can see the draw from a manufacturers point of view as they need to cater to a wide audience and the systems ensure a situation is neutralised way before it need become an issue. My biggest issue with electronic nannies is...

Just ordered a 14' RT SM6 in White

You guys are lucky, you get far more colour options than us. We have to compromise somewhere. I wanted an RT-S in black, but we only get white or cognac. Still, I'm happy with the base RT which has the important stuff and have change left over for added farkles. So far I have the RT-S wheels and...
