• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    BODY MODS

Wow, $985.00 for a side panel? I don't mind paying somewhat of a premium for a quality, innovative product, and I realize that's Canadian dollars, but still that's higher than giraffe testicles! No thanks.

Just as well, I'm way overdue apparently not going to go on my own. Plus this leads to a question, 20K+++ posts and a prize phrase like "peeing sparkly rainbows" doesn't provoke any interest. This is not like the Bob of legend!

Oh and BTW, I agree with Wylie, if you're an owner with a legitimate gripe feel free to vent. If you're a passerby just leaving crap on the trail, who needs you?

"peeing sparkly rainbows" I had this once, urologist recommended expanding my diet beyond jelly beans, m&m's, and various flavors of Fanta soda. Worked like a charm.

2014 Can Am Spyder Release Date

Well considering CFC production was outlawed in '94, seems like a long shot.

    Potential owner

Also have a '12 RS manual and not one problem or regret. '13s are a little more of a gamble, they've made some real improvements but it seems there are some first year bugs present on some bikes. If you go with a '12 or older model be sure to check back here as there are some easy, inexpensive...

    Kewlmetal fails to communicate

I concur, anything over a couple of weeks with no product and even worse, no communication is ridiculous. I had already written off this company's products based on previous e-mails. A real shame because everyone says they are good guys with good products, just apparently terrible businessmen.

    has anyone tried this

I have Spyderpops and in all honesty I can barely notice a difference.

    Civility.

What I find impressive is that even when I've gotten involved in topics that had no business here (I was dragged in by Bob Denman....think about it, if 1% of his posts were inappropriate that's still over 200 inappropriate posts!), and the discussions got a tad heated, there was still never any...

    How are the 2013 models?

I haven't done any 1K days, but I do have to agree with Ron. My RS could well be the smoothest bike I've had in 35 plus years of riding. Perhaps your individual bike had some issue?

can-am spyder rss review by luke lester

I concur with Olddog, I agreed with just about everything he said. I have a 12 RS, but I added the fox shocks, so handling wise it's an RS-S (personally I preferred the all black to the RS-S graphics). While I've gotten used to not having a hand brake while riding, in the first few hundred miles...

What are the odds? BRP Focus Group at Owner's Event.

Hmmm, if that actually happens it could well be my next Spyder. I agree with everything you said (and what you didn't say). I will likely buy an ST next for the somewhat less aggressive riding position. I love my RS, but my 55 year old hips and knees are crying after a few hours in the saddle...

Should I get new shocks (Elkas) for my 2009 GS SE5?

I put the Fox shocks that come on the RS-S on mine, and they were an improvement, but made no where near the difference the BajaRon swaybar did. I concur with the try the bar and the stock shocks at 5 before any other changes (Oh, and make sure you have 19# in the front tires).

    Back in the saddle...

You just have to put it in first, then reverse. Can't get there from neutral.

    New Forum Section Needed................

As to the original topic, I have to disagree. While my Spyder has been completely trouble free, I know what it is to long for a product and go to great lengths to own it, only to wind up with a lemon. I had this experience with an Indian motorcycle. Few circumstances are as infuriating because...

    Oil Change Question

Chupaca is a genius! Couple of light taps with a hammer and one good tug on the breaker and off it came. Thanks Chupaca and thanks M109dreamer for the bolt Henderson plug suggestion, think I will do just that.

    Oil Change Question

I did, still didn't budge, and I'm afraid I'll strip it. I'd just ride it to the dealership like it is, but of course they're closed on Mondays and I'm working the rest of the week.

    Oil Change Question

OK, I've got got all the Tupperware off, my drain pan in place, and I can't get the @$&¥%€ drain plug loose. I had my last oil change at the dealer and they either put this plug in waaaaay too tight (probably closer to 150lbs. Than 15) or they used a barrel of Loctite on it. Either way it's not...

    Two wheels or three wheels?

While I love my Spyder (and won't be giving it up), I do miss the occasional 2 wheel jaunt. Like you, I am considering a light weight bike, probably a < 1K displacement cruiser. That CTX looks pretty sexy, but like someone else mentioned the other bike is a bit tall for my 30" inseam.
