• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What do you think of the 'New for 2025 - Spyder Canyon'?

I’m with you. They can take off half that electronic crap and go back to analog. I’ve only used the radio on my 2014 RTS once. It’s just noise to me. Than again, I don’t even have a radio in my truck.

Spyder And Two wheels - how hard to switch back & forth?

I don’t believe it will be that much of a problem. It’s like riding a bicycle. I’m doing the same thing. Except I’m getting a Honda CT125 trail.

How do you dress for a ride?

Well everyone else can wear what they please. As for me I wear ATGATT because I took the slide in “74”. Spent a full year in the Hospital. Hit and run, the guy left me on the side of the road. I was on a Super Glide at the time. Coma for three days, three broken vertebrae, compound fractures...

    Reliability of the Spyder

I don’t think they have anymore or less problems than say Harly Davidson or Indian. That’s just my opinion. What really hinders them is that their dealer network sucks. A touring bike is only as good as it’s dealer network. I have a 2014 and have had very little trouble with it, but because of...

    Survey on TIRES

Got mine today and completed the survey. Told them the stock tires were junk, why I replaced them with car tires. And last question. Mentioned that they should get they’re dealer network in order, good dealers are far and few between. And that it was the main reason that I would not be...

Has BRP Fixed the DESS Modules?

I’ve sent a PM to Joel but as of yet have not received an answer. I’ll give it a couple weeks.

Has BRP Fixed the DESS Modules?

I’ve got a 2014 RTS also. Had the DESS system problem at about 5 or 6,000 mile the dealer replaced the Module and no problems since. Nearing 24000 miles. The extended warranty has just run out so I’m going to find someone with a buds system that can just shut it off. Someone offered to do that...

    Oil change Question

Thanks everyone for your replies. With so little miles I think I’m just going to wait till next year for service. Hopefully next year will be better.

    Oil change Question

Last September before we left for the winter for Arizona, I had my 2014 RTS serviced as I always do. Than put away for the winter. Oil change,Buds check, new rear brake pads. This year with the mad dash home because of the Covid and my wife has had some health issues, I haven’t even put 1000...

    Ryker Ryders, where are you????

Just wait awhile. 3 years ago I did a late August ride from central New York , down thru CT, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, back to New York. 3 days did not see one Spyder. Not on the road, not in a driveway, nothing. Now they are all over the place. 2 weekends ago I road up to Old Forge...

Has Anyone Switched fron an F3-T to a Ryker?

No your not the only one. I’ve had hip problems since I got hurt in the military. Have to do hip stretch’s every day or I seize up like a rusty piston. Over the years I have learned 3 or 4 different sequences so I can switch off and not get bored.

    Touring Tryke???

Remember in the day when people took off cross country on 250 and 350 Yamahas and 305 Honda dreams and super hawks. Probably more 70’s 350 Honda’s have crossed this country than any other bike. At one time BMW’s big tourer was a 600cc boxer twin that put out 28hp. In 79 I rode a 1979 Vespa P200E...

Loud whining sound at idle after a fairly short run

Good luck with that. Remember DESS, and 13,s catching fire. Don’t mean to be a spoil sport, just sayin. BRP doesn’t respond to readily, other than cashing our checks.

Newbie comments and question - Motor Noises

My 14 has done it since day one. It’s the fuel pump. Asked two different dealers about it, they said it was normal. Only hear it at idle, I don’t even notice it anymore. Just turned 15,000.

    Tryker Trike?

I’m with you no way I’d pay 2000 for a rear trunk, or 2000 for a pair of saddle bags as some did on here a few years ago. I won’t even pay 500 for a BRP back rest. I put one on from Big Bike parts for 150, works fine. As for the bike it’s self, I do love it.

    A QUESTION ABOUT THE SM6

Also interested in where you got the heel/toe shifter and those floor boards? Very nice. As to the OP’s question, SM more control and less parts. I had a Suzuki Burgman 650 prior to my Spyder. It had 2 modes in the Transmission, CVT twist and go, which I loved. And a manual mode where you could...

    2019 Yamaha Reverse Trike

Well I guess one of the big 4 are about to make a foray into the reverse Trike market. This article is from the upcoming issue of Rider magazine. It sure is ugly, but who knows what’s next.https://ridermagazine.com/2018/05/28/2019-yamaha-niken-first-ride-review/

    Value-Accessories Drivers back rest.

https://store.valueaccessories.net/SmartMountDrBackrestCanAmSpyderRT.aspx Friday evening at about 10 pm I ordered this from Value-accessories. Saturday afternoon I received an e-mail that it had shipped. Today it showed up on my door step at 1pm. Can’t beat that for costumer service.
