• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    bump skid plate

I felt the bump skid plate was so important that it is the first major addition we are making to our Spyder. I went to install mine this past weekend and discovered that I was missing two side brackets. I called Spyderpops at 8:15 in the morning and explained what was going on. By mid-morning I...

    Another stall in start/stop traffic

Our 2013ST :f_spider: did the same thing until we hit around 300 miles. We have almost 1600 miles on it now and have not had any problems since. The stalling has mysteriously disappeared.

    Texas motorcycle license

Yes, I would recommend cooler weather when taking the course but the teachers supply plenty of water while you are on the track riding, so it is at least bearable if you were to take the class now. They also recommend that you bring plenty of drinks. For the riding portion of the class, they...

    Texas motorcycle license

You will feel so much better after taking the course. Besides, I believe it is a state requirement now. It will also allow you to skip your driving test when you go to get your motorcycle license (if you don't already have one). FYI: You always have to press the mode button to start your...

    Texas motorcycle license

Congratulations on the new addition . I am no expert on the brakes but from what I have read on SpyderLovers, they are very thin to begin with. If I remember correctly, someone said they are about as thick as a dime when they are brand new. Yours are probably OK. We drove ours around...

Your Spyder - What Year, Model, Miles, Issues... ??

2013ST-SE6 Have had our 2013 ST-SE5 since the middle of June. Over 1000 trouble free miles so far.

    Have a question.

We kind of feel the same way about our 2013ST :spyder2:. We only have about 1000 miles ridden on it, but they have been trouble free miles :ohyea:. Maybe we should drink one on that note . The only problem that we have had is the belt guard coming loose as were were pulling into our...

Regret buying this piece so crap !

We ended up paying 343.00 for our 600 mile service today at Mancuso Gulf Freeway where we purchased our :spyder2:. It was much better than I anticipated. It took between 3-4 hours.

    Ongoing ST heat Mods

We have a 2013 ST-SE5 and to be honest, have not had any heat issues yet and we have road in high 90 degree heat down here in Houston. We do feel some heat on the left side of the bike, but nothing unbearable. I have yet to see the temp gauge go above 5 bars either. After riding over 800 miles...

    Dealer Reputatiion

I would love to see something close to 300.00 around here in Houston. I got quotes from the local dealers except one (and they never answered their phone) and the price was $400.00 and up.

    Keys

My wife was going to just this (drill hole in key). Luckily she called the dealer and the salesman said in no uncertain terms, "DON"T YOU DO THAT", there is chip in the key and if you damage it, your Spyder will not start. .

Regret buying this piece so crap !

The problem with doing the 600 mile service yourself is that you do not get the opportunity for the computer diagnostics or any updates that BRM may have had since your :ani29: was purchased.

Regret buying this piece so crap !

I wish I could find a local Houston dealer who was that inexpensive. So far my quotes have been 400 dollars and up.

    Houston area Spyder warranty/service work

I spoke with Wild West yesterday and they told me it would cost between 425-450. There is a basic charge of $297 and then the rest is parts. They also need to keep the :f_spider: 3 days. That did not set so well with the better half, so we may head over to Mancuso Gulf Freeway (where purchased...

bike shutting off when coming to stop

There are quite a few threads on this subject in the forums. It seems to be an issue with newly purchased Spyders during the break-in period. We had that problem from the first few miles until the 100-200 mile range. We are up to 800 plus miles now and have not had it happen since. Spyder...
