• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hope they are on a Yacht somewhere in the BVI.

    battery tender

Battery Tenders are the way to go. Although I ride at least weekly, so I don't use it when riding often. Maybe I should based on some of those intelligent electron minds out there recommendations? That B&D unit with all the adapters was rather cool.

Why the Rush to Add MODS on a Brand New Spyder?

SpyderLovers.com is why. So many great ideas (this is like Farkle City for Spyders) so that we can pick, choose, and review the choices to make our bikes more personal, and better in some ways., I'm no gear head, and I myself do not get into all the mods, except for a few. As far as the brake...

1450 miles in 27 hours, personal best!

Un-Freakin' believable! You guys are crazy. But, you've set a personal best, and what a risky proposition. You can now be part of the Iron Butts (I think a BMW group). When I rode a K1200LT, I would meet up with Iron Butts who live to ride 1000 mile days. They wore camel Backs, and even one guy...

question about the States Visited Map

Oops. Mine is obviously not just the Spyder, but other motorcycles as well. Am I not complying properly? For the Spyder only, I would not have too many....yet.

Travel tips for BlueRidge Parkway NC?

:agree: This is very true. the Parkway is a wonderful ride, with awesome scenery, relaxing, and a SPEED LIMIT to abide by. Back in 1999, myself and 5 buddies which all ride responsibly were getting on the parkway via a 4 mile long 2 lane road. A beater pickup with mattresses strapped on pulled...

    Len at Cowtown

Len is the key reason I drove a 1000 mile round trip to purchase my Spyder, with Elka's pre installed when I arrived. His father was a fine man to speak with as well. Entire staff and service dept. are fantastic.

    What's your dream bike?

A BMW K1600 GTL loaded. But with a very comfortable passenger seat, and much lower seat height. Maybe 2 front wheels, that can lean in curves.............. And a great dealer nearby, and more dealers over the USA. A guy can dream can't he?

    Oil fill cover blew off

On my 2012 RT, I thought the panel was too hard to remove due to such tight fit in the grommets. I ended up putting a small amount of silicone paste on the plastic pins, and they slide in easier now. But, hearing this makes me rethink that fix? It seems maybe these 2012's have had this problem...

i need a boost of confidence lol

Geez, you have lots of patience when it comes to your Spyder. So many issues? I've been lucky so far, as I've not had any issues requiring repair. Like other posters, for me, life is too short to deal with too many problems. I worked for a major Japanese auto manufacturer ( that also build...

How Far Would You Travel to Buy a Can-Am Spyder?

I traveled 970 miles round trip to purchase my first Spyder. Local dealer wanted MSRP plus set up/delivery. Plus, getting options installed was a concern, as they said they had never heard of Elka Shocks:shocked:. By the time I arrived home, by back roads, my Spyder was ready for its first...

Trailer Flats - Have you had one or more?

Wally World carries a selection of Slime repair kits. Included is a pump, and sealant. From $20-$60 depending on pump sizes. I also carry a plug kit ($5.00 +/-) for a roadside repair. That will repair any tires on bike and trailer. Most local Wal Mart stores have these, as well as auto parts...

Oh no...wife said she preferred taking the GL1800 instead........

Some posts mentioned scuba diving. I'm a diver as well (not for several years now) and I too get sick on a tossing boat. I recall being fearful of chucking through a regulator. Only 1 time it was a close call, but we got in the water and down fast, the sickness disappeared when under the water...
