• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Newbie question about lights?

    Nope, I ride a UK-spec RT and I can tell you for sure they're NOT our low beams. I doubt they serve any purpose at all, other than to create speculation among Spyder riders as to why they are there! :hun:

    Help!!! Stranded in Key West with a new 2015 Limited Spyder.

    Oh my, Bobby, I declare the years haven't changed you one little bit! :roflblack:

    Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

    It was indeed. Winny was very quick witted, even when he was much the worse for wear. At some gathering of England's gentry he was slurring his way through his speech when Lady Astor unkindly declared that he was drunk. Without missing a beat he thundered back, "Yes, Madam, and you are ugly. But...

    Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

    I first saw that expression used here on SpyderLover's pages about 5 years ago and thought then what a great word invention it was. The first time I remember actually hearing it was my dealer during his new owner walk-around. He was describing the two ways of releasing the RT's frunk catch...

    Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

    Here in the UK a cycle is neither a vehicle nor a means of locomotion. The word "cycle" is commonly used to describe a cycle of activity which itself may contain multi-stage events. A cycle begins and continues until all the stages of the event(s) are complete. Completion describes one complete...

    Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

    Why isn't the Spyder more popular? Well I can tell you that I'm extremely happy with my RT and that popularity I'm 100% sure of, which implies that I'm less sure what other people think of the Spyder. It's a complicated question. If the great interest shown by the general population when I...

    2011 Spyder RT SE5 Parts

    Can someone please tell me the BRP website for a parts catalogue for my 2011 Spyder RT SE5. The BRP parts website I used to visit seems to have disappeared. Thanks.:f_spider:

    Spyder vs. Conventional Trike - What are the Biggest Differences?

    You hit the nail! I've always thought of a conventional trike as an optimistic vehicle. Frinstance, the owner optimistically hopes he can bring his Thundering Great Beast to a safe and rapid halt when the situation demands, despite having only that skinny little patch of front wheel rubber to...

    TRIKES = 3 WHEELS

    Common parlance has named it "The Chunnel" (Channel + Tunnel). I think the train does it in about 25 minutes side to side carrying freight (trucks), cars, motorcycles (Spyders). A fast roll-on, roll-off ferry can do the crossing in about 45 mins, port to port, the common ferry service is about...

    TRIKES = 3 WHEELS

    European ferry operators don't care much what we call our Spyders, their ticket prices reflect the deck space a vehicle occupies. A Spyder has a deck footprint similar to a small car. Last August my Spyder picked up a surcharge £250 ($400) over that charged on a regular motorcycle ticket from...

    videos from last weekend

    I can do without music, I much prefer the sound from the engine and tyres. The rear view is good when another vehicle is following to provide visual interest, without that there is only rapidly disappearing scenery. The front view has got a lot going for it, I like seeing the speedometer in...

    New Garmin 590LM

    I am completely at a loss to know why Garmin, or anyone else for that matter, would think that a thin vertical screen would be preferable to a fat wide screen for showing a road map. Someone whose eyes are single file might love it but I don't don't remember seeing anyone like that, I'm sure I...

    Problems Starting

    You have just described the same problem I had a few months ago, like exactly the same, including the weird lines on the display. Had to call out my breakdown service to get my '11 RT SE5 home from my local discount petrol station where I had taken it to fill up. At the time I thought (hoped)...

    Spyder compliance

    If your Spyder is running well that's great. Especially on holiday I think it is always preferable to ride a machine you know and have confidence in. We live about 20 miles from the (central) Welsh border and we never tire of spending a day riding through the magnificent Welsh countryside on...

    Spyder compliance

    My UK-spec Spyder RT doesn't have dipping headlights as such. The top pair of lights function as the main beam and are switched on and off as required by the rider. They have a long throw and illuminate the road in the far distance. Because of their greater brightness they readily dazzle other...

    Hey BRP👂👂👂👂👂👂

    Thanks, Bob, I appreciate that. To be missed by a member of the NRA is a lucky break... You've used a variety of interesting and amusing avatars over the years. I trust Alfred E Neumann's portrait as a bum doesn't reflect the depleted circumstances of anyone in particular? :yikes:

    Hey BRP👂👂👂👂👂👂

    You'll get no arguments from me! I'm in the UK and for decades now goods manufactured in third world countries have been equal in quality and much lower in price than most of our traditional home-produced items. I long ago ceased to be surprised at the increasing number of items in my home which...
