• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Unstable ride feeling........

I totally agree I'm with UtahPete. Especially about the tires. I'm a retired Engineer and I get just a bit tired of people who are not engineers or if they are, didn't design Spyders for a living, saying that the Engineers who did design them don't know what they are doing or would put tires...

    Researching buying Enclosed Trailer

Other towing Steveandbelinda, Here's why I need the RAM: Now, if I can just find a way to attach the Spyder trailer to the back of the boat trailer and then somehow the 14 foot catamaran for those really windy days.....A boy can dream.

    Researching buying Enclosed Trailer

Pulling the cargomate trailer I am pulling the trailer with a 2014 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel. However, that is because I also pull a 6000 lb 26 foot long 9 foot wide sailboat. You can pull it with your car, BUT I wouldn't go very fast. It will take you longer to get there but I wouldn't go over 55...

    Researching buying Enclosed Trailer

Cargomate I have a 6 1/2 X 10 Cargomate I drove over and picked up from the dealer MSI in Elkhart Indiana. It weighs about 1400 lbs. for a total of 2400 lbs loaded and has a tongue weight of 234 lbs with the front wheels directly over a crossbar. I paid $2395 for it in November of 2016 and it...

    Enclosed Trailer for RT Questions

Cargomate I wanted the smallest trailer I could find. I have a Cargomate 6 1/2 x 10 with v-nose and a side door and it works perfectly. Single axle is good for 3500 lbs. total. Weight of trailer 1400 lbs. Spyder 1025 lbs. With about 6-8 inch clearance in the back at the ramp door, the...

Is it ok to skip through gears when downshifting?

Yes! Downshift. You want to ALWAYS downshift down to 1st as you approach a stop. This is because if traffic moves, you want to be ready to go in 1st right away.

    Dog carrier for Spyder

Oh the money I paid to bring the pup! I bought a very slightly used trunk lid on ebay. I had to buy a brand new inner liner from the dealer because no one else had one. Cut the big hole in both, then bought a piece of steel, which had to be cut round and then bent in the middle and painted...

Motion sick from riding a Spyder ??

Vertigo I had a head injury that resulted in severe vertigo for about 5 years such that I could lose my balance at any moment and end up on the ground. This condition was made worse by visual effects such as things moving past in my peripheral vision. I was prescribed antivert/meclizine and...

    Hey, I know you....

Lake Villa Nothing famous in Lake Villa, but we come up to sail with our friends as members of the High Cliff Yacht Club, for one week a month every summer. We are often in Neenah and Menasha and sail with the Neenah Nodaway Yacht Club (established 1863 or there-abouts) sometimes. I keep...

Does it really take 300 miles?

About 10 feet I have riden bikes since I was 18. When I drive a regular motorcycle, I always ease my foot off the edge of the peg so that when I'm leaning into the turn I hit my foot first and then just scrape the foot peg a little. Love the lean just a bit too much. So how did it work on...

    February in Destin Florida

Good information so far. Thanks for the information so far. Yes, if we go to New Orleans we will want to avoid the crowds, so I'm looking at celebration timing. As for The Villages, we will be visiting family and will leave the Spyder in Destin but bringing the Pup. Dale, lunch sounds good...

    Improving Helmet Storage

Clip under the seat There are actually clips under the seat for the helmet but I've never seen a helmet that had a chin strap long enough to use and then lock the seat down, so I made these extensions out of scrap stainless: You can see the plastic clip under the seat in the first picture...

    February in Destin Florida

Destin in Feb. We are driving down from Illinois with the Spyder in an enclosed trailer, me, the wife and the pup. It'll be -1 with a -10 windchill in the morning. Hah! We laugh at the cold! We'll only be down to the villages visiting for a couple of days. Then back to Destin. Yeah, as...
