• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

Unfortunately I don't drive enough miles per year (7,000) in a car to justify the $120K price tag. Still, it isn't so much about the money as it is about efficiency, smoothness and quietness. I'm willing to shell out several thousand more for that. Fortunately Tesla will be coming out with a...

My next car if I can figure out how to pay for it: Tesla S Performance Plus All electric 0-60 in 4.4 seconds 250+ miles per tank No maintenance Massive storage Height adjustable suspension The 250 mile range works for 99%+ off my driving, so at .11 per kilowatt hour to charge it up, it's...

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

Bob, you're getting lower shift points than I think I was even able to. I can't remember getting the 1330 to even allow me to shift any lower than 2,200, but then again, I'm using ECO. That might be a function of ECO :dontknow:. However, I also got a bit of surge when shifting below 2,500...

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

After a while, you won't even be looking for the green arrow. I find shifting is best, and smoothest, between 2500-3000 rpm. This range is where the green arrow pops up anyway. If you look at it this way, then you find yourself just listening for 2500-3000 rpm (after you get a feel for what...

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

Duck, ECO does make the throttle very lethargic. Besides half of one tank, I have always used ECO. That half a tank though....Wow! It was like driving another machine (just like when I put my Prius in Power Mode). That throttle response can become very addictive, so that's why I have never...

REVIEW: CalSci Tinted Shorty Windshield for the Spyder RT

They make different ones of different thicknesses. This is why my review is specifically of the CalSci Tinted Shorty Windshield for the Spyder RT. You may have had one of the other shields that they make.

REVIEW: CalSci Tinted Shorty Windshield for the Spyder RT

Bob, yes, it is mounted up. If you look at my MPG report that I update, you'll see when it was added, and the MPG I've been getting in comparison to before. You'll have to judge for yourself, but my guess is that if it has helped MPG, it has been marginal at best; which is surprising since...

REVIEW: CalSci Tinted Shorty Windshield for the Spyder RT

Richard, I don't have a band saw, and even if I did, the windshield is curved, so cutting it with one would not be easy to do without at the very least, scratching the shield. However, I think you missed the points made in my review.

    Headlight bulb

Not having a 2011, I can't say with any certainty. I have a 2014, and it uses a 9005/HB3 bulb, but I certain previous models used a different bulb. I would really want someone that has/had a 2011 RT to confirm for sure, because if the owner's manual for the 2011 is anything like the one for...

REVIEW: CalSci Tinted Shorty Windshield for the Spyder RT

So I wanted a short windshield for my 2014 Spyder RT-S to aid in providing my air to myself due to summertime temperatures and to see if I could achieve better mileage. I considered the CalSci Tinted Shorty Windshield, but the height of the windshield is 19", and that was still taller than what...

Try to sing along with it? :roflblack: Seriously though, this has been talked about, and almost every RT has this sound. It is nothing to be alarmed about.

No, you're right about that; although there was news just last year that they were trying to bring it back: http://www.gizmag.com/aptera-independent-production-us/27868/ Here is an interesting article that talks about the events leading up to their closing in 2011, although by this time, I was...

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

Well I really wanted the 17". I don't know why CalSci sent me a 18", and I really don't know why they aren't responding to my email to get the issue resolved. I can tell you that if they don't resolve it in some way, my review won't be good. Give me a few more days to try to reach them, and...

Got my order in today for the Elio!

I wish him luck, though I would have strong reservations based on past personal experiences. I put down a deposit on a couple of different vehicles that were promised to be produced, but never panned out. After a few, to several months, I got my deposit back. In those cases, there were no...

    2014 RT-S MPG Report for Texas (V2.0)

I'm referring to the Sport Shield from CalSci. I requested it to be cut to 17", but they sent it to me as 18". I sent them an email asking them what can be done about this, but I didn't receive a response. I know I said I was going to do a review on the shield, but I've been waiting to hear...
