• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Yamaha comes at multiwheeling but its a bit bland

Thanks, Bob ... yes ... this is vastly different than Can-Am's 'Y' factor design, including suspension and body/fairing characteristics. Comparing the two is like apples and grapefruit. It's simply a different (albeit cool) concept I don't thnk Can-Am is going to follow. Then too, how viable...

Yamaha comes at multiwheeling but its a bit bland

I'm always interested to see another mainstream manufacture doing things in the three-wheel market. Then too, a Spyder is a Spyder and whatever anyone else makes is their concept. While I've seen their patent filing for a 'leaning' suspension, I do not believe Can Am is hell-bent on adopting...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Spyder's Name She's dressed in Timeless Black ... delicious suspension, low and sexy. Her name is "ELVIRA."

    Disapointment With BRP Owners Event

In 2010 I went to Spyders in the Smokies - Gatlinburg. Lacking of some things I would've liked. In 2011 I went to the Spyders Owners Event in Maggie Valley. Lacking of some things I would've liked. In 2012 I returned to Maggie Valley to a TrikeTalk.com Trike event. Lacking of some things I...

Regret buying this piece so crap !

Delete This is the kind of thread that I'd like to see Lamont come in on and deeeeeee-lete! It's not constructive, doesn't support the community and offers mostly heat ... very little light. There are honest questions and concerns across many threads, but blowing off and defaming what 10s of...

NOT happy with my dealer service...

There are a number of moving parts here (not on the Spyder, but in the details). The 12K service is the first 'biggy' for Spyder. The Maintenance Schedule talks about labor-intensive things like valve adjustment, check inner bearings, replace outer seals, exhaust gaskets, and then there's the...

    Akrapovic exhaust ?

Bob captured my focus. Weight savings (WS). WS= better mpg, where ever one can find it ... including having lost 30 pounds off my own carcass since the end of February! That's probably nearly 50 lbs. off of Elvira, plus the better aerodynamics from the reduced profile Sport touring windscreen...

NEED HELP! STUCK IN PARKING LOT WITH BRAKE STUCK AND BLOWN FUSE

Found this Post from 2010. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?22154-RT-Parking-Brake-Failed-On Sounds like a similar situation. You need tupperware off and some tools. In this case, it sounds like the Parking Brake motor shut down before the the brake was actually disengaged...

    Goodbye Elka Rear - Spyder RT-S ('10)

Would 'early on' mean ... umm ... a year ago? I think I mentioned previously in this thread I'd be getting with Elka. I never said I was eatin' anything. The one thing for sure was I needed to get the defect off the Spyder and replace it. I mean ... it was painful! Needless to say, I wasn't...

    Goodbye Elka Rear - Spyder RT-S ('10)

An Elka Stage 4 is much more of a shock than a Stage 1 ... more flexibility on set-up and a heartier part.

Blown Rear Shock @ 13k Miles

What year is your RT? Also, I refer you to this thread, where I replaced a stock rear with an Elka, then went back to stock. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?51757-Goodbye-Elka-Rear-Spyder-RT-S-(-10)&p=612741#post612741 Paul

    Goodbye Elka Rear - Spyder RT-S ('10)

I'll be checking with Elka on the QC issue ... and to your right-on statement re cost, like I said, one can buy five new stock shocks for the price of one Elka Stage I rear. So, right now my new 2012 stock rear (on the back of my 2010 RT) is working great ... and if it blows, then I can slay...

    Goodbye Elka Rear - Spyder RT-S ('10)

Well then, that would place the blame on John at Elka, who was so painstaking at making sure I had the right part ... for an RT ... and again, I'm not throwing Elka under the bus. I guess mistakes can be made by even the best.

    Goodbye Elka Rear - Spyder RT-S ('10)

Good comments. As I'd mentioned before, my experience seems to be a costly fluke. The shock I had didn't fit the Spyder. John at Elka and I covered the make/model, all the height/weight and type of ryding issues in excruciating detail; and then when problems surfaced, we drilled down on part...

How many miles on your current Spyder?

What Miles? 2010 RT-S PE#391. 17,300 miles. She's better than ever. Can't imagine trading newer, especially with my front Elkas, Corbin RT seat, BajaRon Swaybar, Bumpskid, 2013 vented windscreen, ISCI floorboards, GloRyders, ESI fender, mudflap and HMI Tail light ... Oh .. and the Butler...
