• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Fantastic Fear or Frantic Panic....

Sounds like you've given this some thought and have gotten some experience riding before tackling the interstate, which is wise. We live down Carbondale way and make the two hour ride up and through St. Louis several times a month (sometimes several times a week) just to experience the...

    Spyderfest Green Route

Nice! I remember visiting the Caverns when I was just a kid in grade school - would be nice to go back and see if my remembered perceptions of the place are at all accurate.

Might want to check out Can Am Spyder on Facebook

Wow! We've got so many actual ambassadors already on this site that would be great "official" ones! But, Deb, if you think you could swing the time from work (although your Iron Butt rides wouldn't take THAT MUCH time to get from one coast to another) you would definitely represent the female...

    SpyderFest 2011 - Ladies Ride

I'm doing okay - still lots of swelling and now occasional pain that catches me off guard, but all in all still good. Still not able to touch down right foot and probably won't be able to for at least another month - then not sure...I was told might be up to three months before I can start to...

    SpyderFest 2011 - Ladies Ride

Of course there will be a lot of ladies with their own Spyders who would probably be more than happy to have a co-rider for the day. If it's pretty weather, it would be a shame to not get out in the fresh air for the ride. Since the van will be available for overflow items, two-up would easily...

    Spyderfest 2011 Info and check-in

Last word was you pay at the event - no pre-registration set up, at least not yet.

At what age did you, or would you switch ???

I'm coming up on 58 and I don't plan on switching. I like a sport style ride and all my other bikes are sport or sport-tourer models. I like the bent knee, toes on the peg style so the RS suits my style just fine. I found I can throw on some panniers and an Ortlieb dry bag on the back seat...

    BILL GARGAN ACCIDENT

Bill, so sorry to hear of your accident. I feel your pain as I sit here with my broken leg propped on a pillow to absorb some of the throb. So very sorry that you'll have to give up the Spyder - we all know what good therapy ryding is. Take care and good look with the healing process.

The word is getting out about Spyderfest

You could start taking requests, Ron. Or do like some of the improv. performers. We all give you a key word or two and you pick from them and weave them into a story! Like you don't have enough weird things to deal with now between wardrobe malfunctions and character glitches. How many...

    Key Management

The good news is, even if left in ignition, very shortly it won't start the bike unless someone knows about pressing the mode button. Having said that, though, you might check out Lamont's key cover - he leaves his in the bike ALL the time but you never know it because it just looks like a...

    Rider Cutlery

This is an odd post...my thoughts were bouncing back and forth like a ping pong ball. Knife - as in part of a tool kit/multi tool and then gun - as in protection? If it comes to protection give me my gun, although the first time I packed it for a bike vacation with my husband he freaked out...

    Riders, which gender are you

Hang in there, Ruthie! Brave of you to dip your toe into the "poll" waters with only 7 posts....don't let the "suggestions" get to you! We Spyderlovers can be a hard room to play to, except maybe Teddy who is neutered and looks so sweet!

    Hospital Stay.

Sandrunr1, glad that you are out of hospital and feeling better. It is sometimes difficult to get the rest you need to heal while there. Hope you are home, comfortable and recovering.

    Speed kills? Wind just hurts!

Hey Raptor - Just read your last post. We do enjoy riding different bikes and since we're retired have waaaayyy too much time to bike shopnojoke. David has the new Ducati Multistrada 1200 which he loves a lot more than the older 1100 that he had a few years ago. He also has the Hypermotard...

    Speed kills? Wind just hurts!

Thanks for all your well-wishes and words of advice...I can use them all! I'm doing pretty well. Everything just takes me twice as long to do balanced on one leg. I could certainly use a consult with Seth to learn some wheelchair tips, too! Today I'm back to a more normal routine with...

    When a Ride ISN'T Just a Ride...

I think we women riders generally find even more of a broad acceptance. A guy riding any bike seems to feel comfortable walking up and asking questions without having any "ego" issues involved. That's what I love about the biking community - whether I show up for a CMA event featuring mostly...

    Teddy needs your vote

I agree with Doc - the fluffy tail and mohawk get my vote. Except that I think that he truly does look cute - shows off his good bone structure and pretty eyes and is really practical for his active lifestyle. I sort of roll that way myself. When we started touring and had to cut down on what...

    Speed kills? Wind just hurts!

Thank you all for your warm wishes and replies - makes me feel better already! That's actually true, too. The surgeon told me I could count on having a few rocky days ahead with the post-surgical pain - but I guess he forgot to tell my leg :hun:. I actually have to think think hard to even...
