• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Works Performance Shocks

What they tested... They pulled one of the stock shocks and ran compression tests which involved starting with the stock in a static position, and then compressing it in 1/2" increments and measuring incremental resistance. I watched as they did it and they walked me through the math (to...

    My three favorite RT mods

Agree on the ESI Shorty... From Lamont: "The next is the Street Magic Shorty shield from ESI. I've had a chance to put some real miles on it now in all sorts of weather and this is working out perfect for me. I love being able to look over the shield and still get a little wind when I need it...

    Works Performance Shocks

Interesting... Pierre mentioned that the specs ended up closely mirroring some shocks he had done for the BMW.

    Works Performance Shocks

I am returning home from visiting Works Performance in Canoga Park, CA. It was worth the ride and we accomplished what could never be done over the phone. Pierre (engineer) immediately took the RT for a ride to get a personal feel the bike's behavior on the road, in turns, braking, etc. They...

Rear Tire Change CAUTION - do not bend Height Sensor!

Good reminder... The shop manual does emphasize disconnecting the link but your reminder is timely given all the recent shock discussions.

    Rear tire chgd. Yea Ride-On

From a prior Lamonster post... "I get a lot of calls, PM's and emails about how much Ride-On to use on the Spyder. The guys at Ride-On are getting the same calls and they have come up with a recommended amount for each tire of your Spyder for best results. Your front wheels get 13 oz each...

    Visiting Vegas for BIKE Week

Bike Week Won't be around for the weekend (23/24) but will during the following week.

    Rear tire chgd. Yea Ride-On

Another Ride-On benefit... I'm using Ride-On as well and I noticed that the front tires are holding their pressure much better. I don't think 17-19 lbs creates keeps a very tight bead seal on tires and prior to using Ride-On, I was topping the pressures up every other ride. Hope it's not my...

    Removing rear wheel?

Rear shock absorber change... Would you recommend this approach to access the top of the rear shock absorber on an RT, or is there yet an easier way?

    2011 spyder rt upgrade suspention

Maybe, but I ask... I have yet to hear of anyone citing the 2010 RT suspension setup as cause for an accident. I know the suspension needs improvement (I'm upgrading my shocks), but I haven't seen any evidence on this forum that could justify treating the 2010 shocks as warranting a safety...

Gauges - what I've used to fill the holes!

Not much use here... Nice setup but...where I live in Southern Nevada, the police don't waste their gas on speeding motorcycles. I suspect they're not alone.

    2011 spyder rt upgrade suspention

Agree 100%... Lamont, my sentiments exactly. Any vehicle can have real problems that need to be addressed, but for the most part vehicles evolve and improve. And when you have a vehicle as new and complex as the RT, the rate of change may be pretty fast. But improvements should not be...

    Shocks

Some Penske info... I exchanged emails with a Penske rep this morning and I learned the following (you will need to refer to their website to complete the picture): They currently have a 3-shock package for the RT (Caution - he responded to my specific question about RT shocks but did not...

    Elka FYI on springs

Elka Rear Shock Matt, Will the Elka shock be integrated into the air suspension or will it be an alternative to or bypass certain air suspension elements? Also, after reviewing the shop manual, I still have no idea the extent to which body panels need to be removed to accommodate the removal...

    Elka FYI on springs

Ordering question... To be clear, has this thread been about the Elka 2-way or 2-way+ shock? And is there a difference between the Elka model for the RT versus the RS?

Great idea... Just looked through the KC website and it certainly seems like this is their sweetspot. Hope they are encouraging.

Can RT, Garmin 660 and Telephone

Wondering out loud... Not being an audio electronics person, I was wondering if the communication system on the Spyder could be explored by such an expert and a way devised to tap the iPhone into it. The result might be a product that would be in great demand among those of us, like Lonnie...
