• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Works Performance Shocks

Just catching up on the last several posts. Pierre measured ride heights carefully and was not affected. Rebuild is not expected until you hit 30-40k miles, depending on ride conditions. Expecting my rear shock today. This was a more complicated exercise to engineer because the shock and...

Stock sway bar specs: RT vs RS

    Thanks, Scotty. Got it. Thanks.

Stock sway bar specs: RT vs RS

Meaning they have a different shape or different stiffness? Asked another way, are they interchangeable as with the shocks, so that an RS would benefit from a stiffer sway bar from the RT?

Stock sway bar specs: RT vs RS

Curious - does anyone happen to know if the stock sway bars on the RT and RS are the same or different. I recently sold my stock RT shocks to an RS owner and now that I've installed Evoluzione's sway bar, I'm wondering if my stock sway bar has any value to an RS.

    First impressions of Elka

Pricing is driving by adjustability... If you need a simpler shock with fewer adjustments, WP has a shock at the same or better price point than ELKA. And you won't have to fuss with ride height when installed, as all their RT applications were developed on the bike and measured so as to...

    First impressions of Elka

Ride height... "...The install did lift the front suspension’s center of gravity height by 1 and ¼ inch. My head lights needed to be adjusted as they were in the sky." Do you know why ELKA didn't design the shock so that ride height was unchanged at the typical spring rate? As to ride height...

ELKA RT Rear Shock is IN!!

Can you offer any details on the installation? Did you remove the rear cargo, etc.?

    Works Performance Shocks

No adjustments yet... Did more riding over the weekend, mostly surface streets, but a lot of lane changes and the usual potholes, etc. Still amazed at how good the ride is (BTW - I have only the stock sway bar). I've been somewhat jammed on time so for the time being I'm happy to leave...

new KW - Suspension for the RT

1,499 Euro? Yikes...that would be pricey even if they tossed in a rear shock.

    Works Performance Shocks

More thoughts on shocks... Did quite a bit of riding over the weekend and continue to feel more and more comfortable with these shocks. The bike feels glued to the ground in quick lane changes and corners. The sweeping curves entering highways beg for acceleration. Given the fundamental...

Rear Shock request... Does anyone have a used (damaged or otherwise) RT shock that they wouldn't mind parting with?

    Works Performance Shocks

WP Shocks installed... Received the shocks yesterday and mounted them this morning. Very straight forward installation, with one exception. Space for the upper bolt on the left shock is very dear. I was able to find a low profile Kobalt ratchet that worked well; a standard ratchet and socket...

    Works Performance Shocks

Shocks not on website... The shocks they built for me were assembled specifically for the RT. The end result may mimic one of their shock models, but they are unique. They probably haven't posted the pictures on their website yet. I expect my shocks today and will post pics of them and the...

    Works Performance Shocks

Partial answer... My shocks will have more adjustability and a bridged reservoir. As to overall performance, I encourage you to call Tom Edison at WP and talk to him (see post below). I'm just not schooled enough to give you a more detailed opinion. I did go with black although they have...

Calling WP... Ask for Tom Edison. Works Performance Products, Inc., 21045 Osborne Street , Canoga Park, CA 91304 818-701-1010 ext 21 Not being a shock engineer or knowing the Elka shock specs, I can only guess that the ones I have purchased are close or identical to the Elkas you mention...

    My three favorite RT mods

Seat has been a hit for me... I found the Corbin seat to be just the ticket for me. Did 600+ miles the weekend in 2 long stretches and never gave the seat a second thought. the closed cell foam (in my opinion quite like the Tempurpedic closed cell) is great. Installation should not be an...

    Works Performance Shocks

A little more info on the WP shocks... Here is the description I just pulled from an email exchange with WP: The shocks are fully adjustable; 18 position adjustable rebound damping, 20 position compression damping and threaded spring preload. Dual rate springs (300 and 425 lbs). Shaft at top...

    Works Performance Shocks

Yes, the Works Performance shocks are rebuildable, and I would expect the same of all the custom shocks, including Elka. BTW, WP said that I should get ~35k out of the shocks before they need maintenance.
