• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Speakers crackling

Paula, if you can, PLEASE capture some video footage similarly to the two 2018 Spyders I found affected by this audio system flaw. I shared two videos (2018 F3L and 2018 RTL) of the dreaded crackling. Would you confirm if this is what you're hearing from your F3L. You're are the very first...

    Speakers crackling

Have you reported this audio system flaw to your dealer? The more owners who bring their Spyders in to report the flaw(s), BRP will then commit to addressing this with a global-wide bulletin. BRP has stated I'm on the only affected Spyder documented with these specific issues. Skups Spyder...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

I feel more reassured knowing there's a suction screen that catches any loose debris so that these broken bits aren't floating anywhere far enough to cause any significant damage; thank you for this important detail. I hope that's confirmed when the investigative and process begins before any...

    Speakers crackling

BRP has seen my videos which should be clear enough for engineering to start troubleshooting the culprit(s). I know I'm sounding like a broken record here, but the audio system flaws clearly isn't isolated to my Spyder since all four 2018 RT-L loaners I've used over the past 18 months. However...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

In fairness, I'm not interested to pursue a complete engine/transmission replacement if this failure hasn't caused any damage to the respective areas of concern. If it can be repaired and continue to operate fine for thousands of miles beyond then I'd rather opt to follow BRP's bulletin...

    Speakers crackling

If you would, PLEASE update us all whether or not you were successful to obtain warranty coverage to replace your amp and speakers. BRP has vehemently denied warranty coverage for my 2018 Spyder F3-L indicating that very few Spyders are affected with this audio system flaw but it's part of the...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

You point out the very exact concerns I also hold regarding this failure. Due to the fact BRP has an existing bulletin for this "shift index lever" flaw, I'm a bit more anxious as to what else has been damaged within the engine and transmission. Therefore, I have requested for my technician if...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

UPDATE: Service technician was told by BRP engineering that these loose bearings are related to a "shift index lever" metal ring failure that holds in the bearings. My question for him to relay back with BRP engineering – who are now closed for the weekend – where can these bearings travel...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

This was all discovered in house at the flagship premium BRP authorised dealer. The owner of the dealership has has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help me against this battle with BRP. He is someone who I've become friends with over the years where I purchased my previous 2008 Spyder...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

Case number issued. I've been on a brand new 2018 RTL loaner (fourth one within 18 months) through this ordeal which entails another warranty battle of my life with BRP. If the engine/transmision situation cannot be properly resolved with a complete replacement depending on the extent of the...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

Case number was issued this week for the bearings failure which is a second case opened to an unrelated issue for the flawed audio system that affects all 2018 model Spyders. I digress... Anyhow, now that BRP is closed for the weekend I'll have to wait for a response next Tuesday and onward.

Source of noise on left side of ACE 1330 engine

Reviving this old discussion because I wonder if my present issue is related to what others here have noted - here's a video I made in July 2018 for reference. My service technician found a slew of ball bearings a small metal ring (see attached photos) clinging to the magnetic oil plug while...

2018 & 2019 Spyders - Weak Signal and Speaker Crackling Noises

You are correct with regards to the constant background noise would be evident. However, since the crackling noise is occurring in the four RTL's I've had on loan that don't have LED lighting, that was ruled out. I've included a video of one of the RTL's audio system flaws that's identical to my...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

Loose Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help! My BRP authorized Spyder technician found a batch of ball bearings and a tiny metal ring clinging to the magnetic drain plug inside my 2018 Spyder F3L's engine oil during the first 3K mile service - currently, it...

    Speakers crackling

I'm curious if the amp replacement has resolved your crackling issues with your F3L? BRP is refusing to authorise an amp replacement for my Spyder unless I'm willing to pay for it and the labour time even though my Spyder is still under warranty. Looking forward to hear if your Spyder's audio...

2018 & 2019 Spyders - Weak Signal and Speaker Crackling Noises

This issue has occurred on my F3L from the first day, but it already had the LED lighting setup installed. However, all four brand new RTL loaners all didn't have LED lighting yet they also produce the identical audio system flaws that occurs in my F3L. We've ruled out the LED lighting as the...

2018 & 2019 Spyders - Weak Signal and Speaker Crackling Noises

I'm curious to find out if the dealer technician has done tested either under load. BRP has asked the dealer technician to take apart the antenna and clean and check all the connections but I hadn't heard if they tested the battery or alternator for output under load. EDIT to add: technician...

2018 & 2019 Spyders - Weak Signal and Speaker Crackling Noises

You highlight an important point, which I'm also aware of as well. My phone has been linked to the BRP Connect app. However, I play Apple's native music app via Bluetooth. The music app itself requires the volume output to be set at 100% or it's inaudible. The phone's volume itself has no effect...

2018 & 2019 Spyders - Weak Signal and Speaker Crackling Noises

These are really very informative and telling details you've shared with your '18 F3L which may be revealing enough to share with BRP engineering. Mostly in regards to your antenna setup. I'm curious about your Spyder's Bluetooth setup which appears to function decently unlike any of the six...
