• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Live Oak, FL checking in...

Welcome to the Spyder world. I, too, moved from a large-frame HD to the Spyder. All I can say is that the Spyder is a lot more fun to ride. This forum is a great place to share ideas and get those "newbie" questions answered. I'm just a few hours north of you and hope to cross paths some...

Front end noise I can't figure out

After doing the checks above, make sure you are not really hearing a belt noise. When it happened to me, I put out a similar post about a rotational noise coming from the front wheel at certain speeds. When I focused more on the noise, I found out the noise was really emanating from the drive...

600 mile service isn't free???? "lol"

Willingness to travel to get the deal you are looking for is a tremendous bargaining advantage, especially if they can verify that the deal really exists and not just made up. My 2012 RT-S was picked up new for less than $22,000 all because I had a deal in Texas for that price and the dealer in...

    Brake failure light

I just went through the same thing with my 2012 RT. Fluid was fine as was the switch. Tech downloaded the latest firmware and "recalibrated the system" and the problem BRAKE FAILURE warning light is gone. ...Don

but it is just a metal bar?

You did good getting the bar and having someone get you going if you didn't feel comfortable doing the work yourself. Not everyone feels comfortable tearing into their ride; however, don't forget that you have a wealth of information right here at your fingertips. I've installed two Ron bars...

    Spyders and $$$

I'm not going to bust your chops over the typo. Heck I didn't even notice it and I'm a proof reader for missile operating manuals at the government missile command. Scary, huh? (JUST KIDDING) As to why they charge what they do. It's probably because it is a clearly recognizable profit...

    still not happy!

STODGY...! I resemble that remark. Actually, I'm pretty aggressive and the RT suits me fine. I'm an old Harley rider with one in the garage that gets left behind every ride day in favor of the RT. I test drove the HD trike and there was no comparison with the Spyder. I hope this helps.

    Brake pads stuck to rotor

It's funny to hear all the squealing going on when a Spyder event dismisses and the riders mount up to leave at the same time...!

    Brake pads stuck to rotor

I had the same issue last fall. The rotors would burn you if touched and gas mileage dropped significantly. A dealer checked the brakes, burned his fingers, adjusted the parking brake, charged me $84.00, and sent me on my way no better off. As quickly as the problem appeared, it went away...

How many of Spyder Riders still ride motorcycles?

Reid, I think you answered your own question in the first line. You bought the Spyder, love it, and ride it with your wife, so she is probably comfortable with it as well. I still have the two-wheeler but would like to sell it because the Spyder is so much fun to ride. My often quoted stats...

    Keeping Corbin Seat Raised

Find it or not, it will only hold the seat up a little bit. I cut a length of 1x2 oak cabinet stock to a longer length so the seat is raised a good bit. Oh yeah, my 'arm' is still tucked up in the seat. ...Don

    Handling Problem

Tight turns and high speeds is the key. I can make mine do the same thing in a parking lot or out on the road. This is to keep you stable. Let up on the shocks and it will change when this occurs. I first noticed it while doing the Tail of the Dragon with my wife on board. Nanny cut the...

    Sena speaker quality

I would suggest talking with the Sena tech person about the pairing sequence for pairing devices and for linking to other headsets. This matters greatly. Even if you do it correctly, there are glitches that require turning the headset off and back on to regain pairing. Sometimes, pushing the...

    Gas Tank - I'm Confused

I carry a one gallon spare tank in my frunk - always! One way to determine "approximately" how far you can ride after the light comes on is to carry a can (full) and check how many miles you can go after the light comes on, before the engine just stops. Did I tell you that the Spyder doesn't...

    Sena speaker quality

I'd rather be smart than a smart *** so let's see if I can play the role. I, too, did not like the sound so the four-man riding group that I ride with all swapped out the helmet speakers with J&M speakers. The Sena unit drove the speakers just fine.

    Best Bluetooth Intercom?

Yeah, I replaced the Sena speakers with J&M helmet speakers and they work great.
