• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    RPM below 55 mph?

You're not alone. Guess I was trying to shift like I did when I was riding the Suzuki. I've only had the bike about 10 days, guess I need to pay more attention to how the spyder sounds when i'm riding. Thanks for the info!

    YNOT

i'm new here, but it's about time for me to make another donation to our local food pantry. It's in a church about two blocks from my house so not much of a ride, but still a great idea. thanks for putting it out there.

    anyone sell their Spyder?

wouldn't consider selling. Of course I only bought mine 8 days ago. I paid $11K for a 2008, trunk liner, extended warranty & some added exhaust (hindle maybe?). It only has 2500 miles on it. Is it a great buy? I don't know but i'm happy with it & it made it possible to get my spyder 6 months...

    My dealer has cut back...

Ok, i'm going to have to take a road trip & check these folks out. Decatur is closer for me but I don't mind traveling for solid work. I just bought a spyder with the 3000 mile service completed so I should be good until next summer. At least I assume the 6000 is next? I must finish reading...

It's official - got my Spyder today!

got my spyder today! #74 2008 SM silver......picked it up in Tenn & now building up some miles back here in central IL. I'm near Springfield & really wishing that I had some cold weather gear to ride in. So if anyone is in the area....hope to see you on the road. jlb

best way to move a spyder?

That is brilliant! Sadly neither of my cars is big enough to tow a trailer. I'm optimistically hoping to make the road trip to the dealer on Friday. If that spyder isn't in my garage in the next week, i'm not sure I can stand it.

best way to move a spyder?

Thanks Mary....but i'm actually in central IL. Sprinfield is the closest town of any size. Would love to know what kind you have though.

Running cold and o2 modifier question

You know it's odd what bikes different folks will make fun of. My first bike was a Suzuki savage, great bike, total workhorse, still hasn't given me a problem. But I got lots of mostly negative comments from mostly Harley riders. Then I moved on to the Qlink, a nice little 250 Chinese bike that...

best way to move a spyder?

Thanks, I was wondering as well how special a "premier edition" was. I'm just excited that i'll have one of my own, no matter when it was made.

best way to move a spyder?

Thanks for the input....it's starting to look like it's back to plan A which is me riding home. I'm not all that worried about riding that far, my family who's driving down with me are the ones who are stressing. In any case, any suggestions on how to quickly attach a GPS so I can ride? Is...

best way to move a spyder?

Thanks everyone! I would prefer to ride it home but i've never ridden that far in one day. Although I've been riding for three years I have to admit that none of my friends ride so it's all on me. I guess my biggest concern is that the weather will be awful & i've always been a strictly fair...

    I'm taking his...

Sounds like a fun day. Here's a link for the chaps I use, love them because they are relatively easy to get on & off. And since they're cut to fit when you order it saved me a lot of sizing issues. I also have a pair of the 1/2 chaps I use in the summer. They're not leather but i've been using...

best way to move a spyder?

Hello everyone! The good news, looks like i've made a deal & a premier edition spyder will soon be mine. Now for the hard part.....the m/c is in Tenn (Nashville) & I live in central IL so about 350 miles. I'd planned to just pick up the bike & ride home, but now other issues have come...

    First trip in the rain

I've been using that tailbag for 2 years on my current m/c. So far it's holding up great & it does hold a lot of stuff. There are also saddlebags that attach to it although i've never tried them. Nice write up by the way.

Sissy Bar Bag / Tail Bag

ok...kind of a related question. Is the pillion seat on the spyders removable? I don't have one yet but I have some accessories from my current m/c that i'd love to keep using. Like the Willie & Max hooker. http://www.willieandmax.com/products/Mounting_Brackets/detail.cfm?item=58622-00...

    just saying hello

Good to know. I stopped by Ted's in Alton while I was in St Louis one weekend. But the test ride was in Decatur. Now i'll have to hit maquest & see where Hoopeston is. Honestly, the thought of having a dealer within a 60 mile radius is amazing. My newest ride is a Qlink....and although I love...

    just saying hello

Hi All.....I just wanted to say hello. I'm in my third year of riding & just starting to research the Spyder. I did my first test ride on an SE5 yesterday & loved it. It was amazingly comfortable & easy to ride. I'm looking forward to heading back to the shop for a longer test ride. Just...
