• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Water in the cylinders using JT's air cleaner

Sound Level ST versus RT Just got in from 100 miles, paying a lot of attention to the sound. I noticed a lot of sound comig up at me from around the bars and steering column Notice in the attached pic, the steering column has a grating around the shaft, throttle and engine emanate through...

Water in the cylinders using JT's air cleaner

Sound Sound level seems the same, loud enough for ear protection when accelerating. Foam might help, but I am dubious. The new open space above the engine is great for cooling and access, but is does act as a sound intensifier. I just wear ear protection.

Water in the cylinders using JT's air cleaner

Here are some before and after pics showing the filter before and after pie plate water shield. The filter attachment in the center is actually a bolt with lock washer, not a threaded stud, bad memory. There is about 1 inch between the shield and the filter around the perimeter, I do not...

Water in the cylinders using JT's air cleaner

Unlikely, but possible Spyderfish here, 2013 STS, with JT air cleaner. Love the filter, takes away the need for the external scoops, allows access to the engine, and adds a certain edge to the soundprint. Here is what I see wrt the filter The top of the air filter is concave, with the...

    Frunk Power Connector

Attempting to add 12 volt power to frunk on 2013 STS. Purchased outlet from BRP, pn 0000754610, mechanically, fits the frunk. Problem is, I cannot find the.power connector. Frunk is removed in picture. Anyone have any idea where this connector could hide. According to the service manual it...

    Mystery Electrical Connector

ST Folks, 2013 STS, during an oil change I noticed an electrical connector hanging down near the oil drain plug, near the floorboard. I can only see the end of the connector, it appears to be plugged, I don't believe it was ever connected on the STS. I cannot see the colors of the wires, but...

    Removing Pine Tree Sap

Solvents are dicey Steve and Belinda, I do believe there is any solvent thatwill dissolve the sap without harming or at least marking the cover. I have had some luck over the years with sticky stuff using a powder approach. Perhaps dry baking soda rubbed onto the sap spots, maybe it will...

Redirecting hot air from the fan

Thanx all for comments I did block off the lower 75% of the vent opening. This solves the issue and I can use the highway peg without roasting my right foot. Not surprisingly, the bike runs a little hotter, still not over 5 bars, but I do not see 4 bars like I did prior to blocking. Not sure...

Redirecting hot air from the fan

ST Folk, 2013 STS, 21,000 miles, running better than ever. OK, this is not a functional issue, there is no heat problem under the tupperware. I tried to find a dealer that woud assist in getting the side panels upgraded with the increased airflow panels, but 3 dealers played deaf, dumb and...

    BEADED SEATS

Cool but more slippery I use the Beadrider in the summer; in spring and fall, no beads. BRider keeps cooler tail and seems to allow you to shift pressure point, as there is more structure. Biggest issue for me is slippery surface, beads would not be so good for agressive riding in the...

    Change Windshield

Cal Sci wobbly mount? AY4B, Did exactly the same thing on 2013 STS. Like the larger screen a lot, reduced helmet turbulence and jitter. I also had to mod the mounting brackets with spacers to increase tension on spring. Works well, no slipping and can be adjusted, even though I rarely...

    Kumho rear tire air pressure?

18 Pounds "All Around" Mike and Peter, With you folks all the way on this one. Kumho Ecsta on rear, original OEM on front, 19K miles. Looking for traction, longevity is secondary. Everything I have read everywhere indicates that lower pressure increases traction, A LOT. Limited of course...
