• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Right wrist pain

What worked for me was changing my grip to be more ergonomically correct. Place a ruler on the back of your hand extending over your forearm. Your hand, wrist, and forearm should all be flat with each other when you grip the throttle, except when accelerating, of course. It took me some time to...

Want Driver Backrest for 2018 RT - any advice?

I went with a BRP backrest. My significant other is of short stature, 5'0", and her legs fit under the cutouts on the bottom of the BRP backrest. Otherwise, she would have to splay her legs to an uncomfortable position with some of the other backrests. I think a taller passenger wouldn't have...

Passenger comfort on latest RT models versus 2016 RTS

I've noticed that the passenger backrest "hangs over" the back of the seat of my 2019 RT about 2 inches. My S.O. is only 5' 0" and she says the backrest is pushing her forward. I've confirmed that the backrest is keeping her from sliding all the way back in the seat and leans her forward quit...

    Electronics on handlebars (smartphones)

I've always avoided mounting my phone on either handlebar for this very reason. Between the handlebars or on the dash seems a less risker mounting spot.

    Hitch Mounted Platform

I'm struggling with this logic. Don't autos/trucks travel all the time with trailers covering their plates? I had a hitch mount rack on my Gold wing for years and it was never an issue, even when pulled over for "other reasons". ;)

Anybody used regular gas in the spyder RT? Any performance loss?

The 1330 engine does have a knock sensor. So if you do experience some form of pre-detonation, caused by too low of an octane, the knock sensor should pull timing and reduce overall performance at any given moment. Generally, if you're hard out on a hot day (high intake temperatures), you're...

Compare a 500 mile ride on a Spyder with same on 2 wheels?

I too was one that read the writing on the wall about moving on from 2 wheels to 3. But I may add a word of caution about taking a Spyder out for a test ride and making a decision from that ride. The Spyder is a different animal from any 2 wheel vehicle in the manner in which it handles and can...

AreoCharger turbo kit help and questions

Wait a minute, before you go tearing your Spyder apart and spending lots of money trying to restore it to stock, I would recommend first turning down the boost to only 1 or 2 psi or maybe all of the way off. (Does it have a boost gauge?) There should/has to be a boost control valve somewhere...

Newbie Here: BRP Connect worth using?

So I thought I would follow-up with this thread. The Show Chrome handlebar mount was a bust. When the handlebar is cranked almost full left, it hits the top of the "tank" whether the holder is mounted vertical or horizontal. The seller and I spent 2 1/2 hours at his house trying to figure...

    Newbie Question about handling

Just got back Sunday from picking up my first Spyder, a 2019 RTL, and driving it 1500 miles home. And ditto to all of the above comments. The one other observation I can add as a fellow newbie with 50+ years on two wheels is that I fought, and am still fighting, muscle memory. The desire to...

Picking up a used 2019 RLT. Any things to look out for?

As many years as I have lived in the Tri-Cities, I've never made it over Lolo pass. Looking forward to it.

Newbie Here: BRP Connect worth using?

The Show Chrome handlebar mount came in yesterday, so I should be set up to hang the phone off the left handlebar. Just need to figure a way to temporarily get power to the phone for the trip back. BTW, for $50, the Show Chrome mount is of fairly decent quality. Better than I expected.

Picking up a used 2019 RLT. Any things to look out for?

Any suggestions would be welcomed Jim. Quite a few years on several Goldwings, but had to give my last one up after figuring out I couldn't pick it after a tip-over in the parking lot. I've missed it for about three years and finally convinced myself that I deserve to get back on the road...

Picking up a used 2019 RLT. Any things to look out for?

Thank you all for your input. Good suggestions all. I'm packed and ready to head out first thing in the morning. I think I'm looking forward to the trip back almost as much as picking up the RTL. Been a while since I've done a road trip.

Picking up a used 2019 RLT. Any things to look out for?

Flying out Monday to pick up a low mileage, 2019 RTL. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for other than the usual tires, oil, lights, dash, maintenance records, etc.? Any specifics to look for when test driving? This is a cash transaction, so when I drive away, it's my...

Newbie Here: BRP Connect worth using?

Thanks for all of the input folks. I'm still confused on the matter of using apps that don't show up on the BRP Connect list. When searching this forum, I found several references to apps like Accuweather and they were able to project them to RTL's screen, but I don't see them on the BRP...

Newbie Here: BRP Connect worth using?

Off Monday to pick up a 2019 RTL 1500 miles away and I'm planning a leisurely drive home on " the road less traveled". Without the RTL in front of me, I'm trying to gleam how I'm going to use the phone GPS to bring me home. Looking at the BRP Connect app, it seems that only those apps listed...

Hey Ya'll We Got A New Member! Lets welcome AtomicEd to SL

Hello Everyone! Flying out Monday to pick up a 2019 RTL for a 1500 mi trip home. I thought I would join here to soak up some information before I head out. Moving to an RTL after the sale of my GL1800. Loved my GL, but couldn't pick it up after a drop in the parking lot. So....three wheels...
