• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What wheel balancer do you use for front wheels?

I have used Centramatics for several years, first with my 2012 Goldwing and now with my 2016 RTL. On the Wing, no other balancing was required and the ride was smooth. As to the Spyder - Per Centramatics instructions, they advise getting the wheel balanced initially as well as the Centramatics...

    Shoei Neotech 3 Helmet

A big no to both. A helmet is designed and made for a one-time event. Depending on the severity of that one-time event, the helmet may appear structurally sound but it has been compromised to some degree. With the few brain cells I have left, I want to keep them all. Saving a few dollars for...

    Pedal Commander Sale

Ordered the Pedal Commander. Small investment to add some quicker response. May add ECM flash later.

    Pedal Commander Sale

How does the Pedal Commander compare with an ECM flash from a performance standpoint?

    Packtalk bold/Spyder

Haven’t used the Spyder system at all since going to Cardo Packtalk Slim. Unless you are a “speaker guy“ there’s no reason to use the bike for any audio needs.

    Kill Switch Sensitivity

I agree that’s too easy to engage.

If Honda built a better tryke, would you buy it ??

My riding buddy and I have 2016 RTLs with Bajaron’s sway bar and shock adjusters added. Both of us are 65+ years young. We have no issues riding 75-85 mph around a 45mph curves all day long. It’s a workout for your thighs for sure but the correct body lean helps to keep Nanny out of the equation.

If Honda built a better tryke, would you buy it ??

Does any of the Honda reverse trike conversions have the same or similar VSS system the Spyder has?

Packtalk Slim and Schuberth C3Lite helmets can go together!

A Schuberth C3 Lite helmet and Packtalk Slim are not supposed to be compatible but if you are willing to work on a $400 helmet to make it happen, you can.

    Pit Bull Lift

The difference is night and day. A Pit Bull lift or J&S lift are much more robust than a Harbor Freight our Craftsman or just about any similar lift.

Bajaron adjustable shock kit on 2020 RTL?

My best friend and I have 2016 Spyder RTLs. Just finished a 4,000 mile trip to Colorado from here in Central Texas. We ride with 3 GW riders. They are not your typical Wing or Harley riders. They grew up on dirt bikes and have ridden all their lives. I can promise you these guys are extremely...

Ultimate Seat Gas Door Pass Through

BlueKnight911, Do you have a part number for the Perma II gas cap or is it universal? I can’t find much information on this item and it appears to be out of stock everywhere I’ve checked.

    Cleaning the Upper air deflectors?

Yes, they are a royal PIA to clean. I wonder if WrapMySpyder has such a product.

Thinking about adding Centramatic wheel balancers to the front of my RT

I have them on mine. Had them on my Goldwing before selling the bike last year as well. To me, a necessary upgrade.. And Bajaron’s sway bar!!! FWIW

Question for former or current Goldwing owners who have a Spyder

Had a 2012 Goldwing, sold it to buy a 2016 RTL. IMO-buffeting turbulence is much much less on the RTL. With windshield up or down, less turbulence on the RTL.

Anyone else like Planning routes? I use REVER...

I plan most of my rides. I am usually with 1-4 riders that want to ride as many crazy roads on the route as possible. REVER now has a twisty option. Put in a start and end point, hit the twisty option and you can ride the right kind of roads. It incorporates all the Butler Maps as well...

    Mileage Issue

Never gotten 37mph. But typically I can go 185miles before looking for a gas station. After 185+ miles, I’m ready for a comfort stop anyway. I think I’ll try 17psi all around and see how that goes.
