• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

You know, it's a $30 part. It really isn't worth the search.

    Whining Sound At 50mph ???

I've noticed some whining type noise on my '18 F3L but it is greatly dependent on which helmet I am wearing. I believe it is just one of many noises this machine makes. It isn't quiet by any means, I chose to ignore it. My tinnitus is more annoying than gear whine.

Talk me into buying a Spyder - A few reservations

I agree with this completely. The R1200/1250GS will fulfill all of your sporting and touring desires. It may look like an off road devise but few are ever taken on anything tougher than a gravel driveway. (Some people can handle them on trails but a 700 lb dirtbike; really?)

    I had to laugh.

I really don't notice this phenomenon. I've heard it spoken about for years but never paid attention to it. Sometimes you don't get a wave no matter what you ride. Think about it, maybe the other guy didn't see you, got distracted with something else, wasn't looking, was tired of waving at the...

High Speed Crash on Hwy 87

I'm very glad everyone walked away. Were you riding with the guy on the H-D?

Guy flipped his Ryker riding in reverse

This post and the video is nonsense. I suggest he take his truck, floor it in reverse on the side of a hill and whip the steering around and see how that turns out. I hope he has a video feed on at the time.

What would you choose? Spyder vs Ryker

Gas mileage is not much different than the 1330. Maybe not quite as good but you only have to use regular gas which will give you a significant savings.

    I am ready for touring...

So what else do you need. My first 10 years consisted of a bag strapped to the rear seat. I gotten soft over the next 35 years of riding but I could still do it if I had to. The point is: just go out and do it. Tune up as you go along.

I never heard of such a thing. It sounds like a good idea. :2thumbs:

    F-4 Customes Airwings for F3-T

I have them and they do everything as advertised. I don't have a photo of them open but there are Youtube videos that demonstrate them going down the road.

What would you choose? Spyder vs Ryker

My wife liked my Spyder and found it easy for her to ride. She had been considering getting a 300cc+ scooter but the stability of the Ryker made more sense. My wife is in love with her Ryker. She rides without timidity on the Ryker which is something she lacked on 2 wheels. I have found ite...

Day trip at freeway speeds on a 600.

Gel Seat covers are comphy but they get burning hot in the summer sun. Go with a properly inflated AirHawk.

Why Does My 600 Sound Like A Two-Stroke?

It is a vertical twin connected to a CVT which doesn't disengage. You are probably just hearing the sound of engine braking and some lean popping.

    Billet aluminum gas tank cap

Where would you intend to put it? The Ryker has a self sealing fuel filler neck like on a car. That would be quite a modification for little purpose.

What would you choose? Spyder vs Ryker

I have some hands on knowledge since we have both a F3 Limited and a Ryker. This is not a choice between similar products. It's like choosing between a H-D Road Glide and a Sportster. All good at what they do but they serve different functions and markets.

Day trip at freeway speeds on a 600.

Should be no problem for the Ryker. My wife has taken her 600 Ryker up the highway at speeds up to 80 mph with no trouble. It still had more in it. Now, I'm not sure how comfortable you will be for a full day but that depends on your expectations. I've ridden all over the country on bikes...

    Ryker Ryde

We have a F3L as well as a new Ryker. The Ryker is great fun, has a lower CG and rider position so you really feel like you're in the bike. You mention performance mods and apparently comfort changes done to your RT so I'm not sure what your goal is. The Ryker is not a touring bike (I know, you...

    Adjusting the rear shock.

Which is how you ended up with five of them. :2thumbs: Of course there are subsequent owners trying to find a shock spanner to fit. I too remember having a decent tool kit but it was late 70's or early 80's the last time I bought a bike with worthwhile tools. Actually, this Ryker is the first...
