• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Falken Tyre Pressure

How do the big boys do this?? Well, the racing people use this technique and so I have used this method successfully on all of my bikes, cars, trucks, trailers etc over the years and it has always worked well. A tire should increase about 10 percent in pressure from cold to full operating...

My new 2018 RT Limited Demo is in my shop

Coins Does that phone actually have a place at the top to insert coins: "Quarter, Dime, Nickel?" Amazing!! A burner pay-phone!

    Ok...so i made a mistake

1 ply I think the same people who decided 1-ply TP is OK are the same folks who designed the OEM Kenda tires. :opps:

    2018 RT Limited

Phone service - out of the area? What happens when you ride in back country where there is limited or no cellphone coverage? I use the Garmin lots of times because there is no cellphone coverage (or worse - expensive roaming charges), and without connections the only salvation is the GPS that...

Didn't Quite Get My TricLED Wide VU Mirror Perfect

Here is the trick I used. I have "fat finger disease," and found it very difficult to get a grip that I thought would let me place the mirrors in the correct position. As you know, you only get one chance to get it right with the 3M tape. There is no turning back if you put it down in the wrong...

Anyone tried Tire Balancing with Ceramic Beads?

First post - do not remove Second post - remove them all Third post - it won't make any difference either way. This could be as bad as an starting an "oil" or a "tire" thread. Stay tuned for further options - perhaps a poll? I hope the OP gets some help with their decision. :chat:

What tools will I need to install the swaybar

One more thing... This is like plumbing projects. No matter how much you take with you, you will no doubt need just one more thing that you forgot to bring along. I did not notice that anyone said to bring along a light of some kind to see what you are doing. Just a thought. No sweat...

Goldwing Windshield Vent on stock Spyder Shield?

No problem. I did mine on a 2011 RT-S some time ago. Fit perfectly. I actually cut down windshield a bit at the same time. The hardest part is placing the vent where you want it and tracing out the pattern - they usually do not come with a template. I just covered the entire area front...

Removal of Chrome Emblem on Rear Trunk

A trick from the dentist Dental Floss is a great tool for removing double sided tape. Just get it started under on of the edges and "saw" through the tape. If is amazing, and a really cheap tool. After the tape is cut, you can remove it in a variety of ways, but this will get the emblem out...

    Another Helmet Question - D-Rings.....

Echo I have been using the Echo connector for years and years. It is a metal-on-metal connection, is quick to open and close even with gloves on. You can leave the D ring attached for securing the helmet to the bike if you wish, so it seems the best of both worlds for me...

    Two vs Three Wheels

I did miss it... Yep, I love the Spyder. But for some curvy back roads, there is nothing like the feel of two wheels. The lean, countersteering, and the feel of the bike responding to your input is so different from 2 to 3 wheels. After 4 years with the Spyder, we retired and moved to...

    Belt tension

Help is on the way I reached out to Markku via PM. I have an original SmoothSpyder that I never installed. I now have the newer BRP version and do not need the SmoothSpyder. Jim at SmoothSpyder helped me gather the documentation that I misplaced, and some install pics and was very quick in...

    Missing install instructions

Good day, I have an original SmoothSpyder Idler kit for the RT. It is the one that requires drilling. I want to give it to someone, and cannot find the installation instructions. Does anyone have a copy of them? Thanks in advance. Bill

    RTS Belt Tensioner Question

Idler on RT = Ride Report I am pleasantly surprised. I just installed the idler pulley with Doc's kit and put on a hundred miles or so on all kinds of roads. Highway speeds to 70+, and backroads as well. So far so good. I bought the original smooth spyder setup back in 2012/3 and never...

    windshield question

Works for me I have the stock shield with the Goldwing vent. I cut the windshield down about 2.5 inches and installed the vent. It is now perfect for me. The additional air flow is wonderful in the warmer days. The vent also helps remove the back pressure that was present at certain...
