• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    hand grips

There is a company in California called "Grip Puppies", they make a grip sleeve similiar to what is pictured above. I had a set on my RS, I really liked the feel and they did make the grip larger and easier to hang unto especially on a long ride, they also do a good job of dampening vibration...

People asking to take spyder for a ride

:agree: I just tell them the bit about a motorcycle being like another mans wife, if they don't get the hint, then I just politely say no.

People asking to take spyder for a ride

There is kind of an uwritten rule among motorcyclist that you don't touch someone else's bike and you certainly don't ask to take it for a ride. The general "non-riding" public is just not aware of this. Most people who have asked me (and it's only been 3 or 4) obviously fell into this...

People asking to take spyder for a ride

I always tell people what I read on a sign someone had placed in the window of a restored muscle car, it read: "An antique car (or motorcylce/Spyder) is like another mans wife, you can look her all you want, but you don't touch her and you certainly don't ask if you can take her for a ride"...

    Can-Am Spyder Ryder Owners Card

Took delivery of my RTS in mid April, received my owners card and pin from BRP last week Thursday. It came in a decorative flat box with the BRP logo and a picture of the RT on the outside, inside was a letter, a Spyder rider pin, an iron on patch and an owners card.

    Friday Night In Libertyville

I know that a group of owners are planning on staying in Libertyville for the up coming Spyder event. I don't plan on driving into Chicago Friday night, as I only live about 10 minutes from the Lehman Mansion in Lake Villa. However, I thought it might be nice to swing by the Candlewood on...

Not All RT's Are Wired The Same

Recently installed ESI's HMT brake light. Nice looking product, really looks stock after installation, super bright, feel better knowing it's back there when I step on the brake. However, installation was another matter. I discovered on my RT that the multi pin connector was buried down and...

    Corbin Saddlebags = Poor Workmanship

I bought saddle bags and a seat from Corbin for my RS last spring (2009). The quality was top notch and the fit and finish was excellent. I had an issue with the slope of the saddle being to great causing me to slide around when breaking of cornering. I emailed Corbin via the "customer feed...

    Chicago Spyder Ryder Event

Has anyone received any kind of confirmation or info from BRP regarding the Sypder rider event scheduled for June in Chicago? I registered after getting my RT, but I've not recieved any kind of confirmation or info from anyone (my dealer or BRP). :dontknow:

    NEW RT WINDSHIELDS

Is it possible to get the GTS in the same height as a stock windsheild? The stock windsheild is really the perfect height for me, but would love to have the added width and the scratch resistant coating?

Looking into the future of the RT

I would echo a lot of the suggestions already mentioned, but specifically the things that "bug" me are as follows: Why no backrest on a 20K plus touring bike? It should at least be an option. The turn signal switch needs a stronger centering spring, you really have to make sure you push...

    NEW RT WINDSHIELDS

As someone who likes to keep his Spyder as clean as the day I bought it, I wipe it down every night before I cover it up. That meant having to take special precautions when cleaning the windsheild. I've been hoping that someone would come out with a replacement windshield with the scratch...

YOU PEOPLE ARE SCARING ME TO DEATH

The people having problems tend to be the ones that scream the loudest. I think a lot of that is just driven by frustratioin. Not all RT owners are having issues. I just turned 1000 miles on my RT-S, and I'm happy to report I've had no serious issues at all. Other than a rattlle in the...

    Sypder Rider Pin

Did anyone receive a "SpyderRider" pin after the purchase of their RT? I remember recieving one from BRP after the purchase of my RS, but so far, nothing from them after I purchased my RT-S. Is this something that they have eliminated? Just curious, I've not read anything about this on the...

    "Rattling Windshield"

At this point, it really is the only issue I've had with my RT. If it's rattling that tells me that there is "relative" movement between components. Over time this is going to lead to wear and or a possible fatigue failure. :gaah:

    "Rattling Windshield"

Ok, I know this has been discussed but I'm going to bring it up again. I took the RT in last week for it's first oil change and inspection. One of the "rare" things I complained about was the darn rattle in the windsheild anytime you hit rough or uneven pavement. Someone had posted that...

    Spyders Are Selling Well

Dropped off my RTS last night for the 600 mile oil change and inspection. There were 2 other RT's sitting there also in for the 600 mile service. I spoke briefly with the dealerships owner who informed me that they have been selling RT's, and Spyders in general. I thought it great news to...

    Bouncing Fuel Gauge

Not all owners have experienced the "bouncing gage" problem. If your dealer tries to tell you that they all do it, he's blowing smoke. :lecturef_smilie: I've had my RT for about 6 weeks now, and have 750 miles on it, no gage problems at all.
