• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Parking in public...

Sorry, but that's just justifying bad behavior. There are many things in this world that are coveted by others, being impulsive and rude isn't an excuse for not respecting something that doesn't belong to you. I'm more than down with being an ambassador to someone who is respectful, and have...

    Question??? With all respect.

I think a lot of "traditional" 2 wheel riders tend to forget how long it can take to really become proficient on 2 wheels. Let's face it, there is a lot more to be aware of on 2 wheels than on 3. I've never met any 2 wheel rider that started out on a big touring bike, generally speaking most 2...

    She laid down on me

Lets remember that there are many Spyder owners that have put thousands of miles on their units "without" any significant problems. I do agree, I wish that BRP would re-think the whole "Limp Mode" thing. At the very least, minimize the number of issues/problems that would dictate having the...

    Stolen bike horror story.

I have a pair of stock front wheels from my RT, a stock seat with Utopia back rest also from my RT and a stock seat from a RS. I was planning on listing it all on CL. Will definetly take precautions after reading this post.

    @$@%#%^@ Limp Mode!

I think you need to find another dealer, I have stopped by my dealer more than once when I was having problems and asked them to hook it up to the computer, not only did they not charge me, I stood right there as they pulled up the codes. As far as aftermarket stuff goes, again, my dealer has...

    @$@%#%^@ Limp Mode!

Well, after a few days in the shop, the dealer confirmed that the "Engine Oil" light and subsequent Limp Mode was due to a bad oil pressure sensor. So, $300 later, Spyder is home and all is well, I hope. Of course, Spydie was 38 days out of warranty:gaah:. So the cost of repairs was mine...

    @$@%#%^@ Limp Mode!

I love the Spyder, that said, I hate the Limp Mode feature. I'm about half way home from work last night when I see the engine light come on and then the display starts flasing "Engine Oil" and goes into limp mode. I got her home and checked the oil level which was fine. I road over to the...

    Airhawk Air-adjustable Cruiser Seat Cushion

Before investing in the Airhawk, I tried just about every other seat cusion out there without much relief. That said, it is during "hot weather" riding that I feel the most discomfort. After about 2 hours of non-stop riding I would just start to get uncomfortable. With the air hawk I have...

Half helmet like HJC IS-2 vs 3/4 or full face helmets

1/2, 3/4 or full face, it's a matter of personal preference and choice. I wear a 1/2 helmet in the summer because I can't handle sitting in traffic in hot weather with a full or 3/4 helmet on. Is a 1/2 as safe as a full or 3/4, no, but a 1/2 helmet is still better than nothing.

the most dangerous motorcycle on the road

If you take a MSRC or read the manual for the Spdyer, they both stress being familiar with the machine you are riding, be it 2 wheels or 3. Every machine is a little different, and you simply have to learn the characteristics of the machine you intend to ride. I have let experienced (2 wheel)...

WARNING FOR ALL RT OWNERS * You may want to check this on your machine

I had complained to my dealer about the same thing back in 2010 when I bought my RT. Mine also rattled when going down the road. Will look into having my pins replaced with the sleeve and screw. I wonder if the rattling is also why some windsheilds cracked on the original RT's. I thought it...

    Help Finding Thread

Some time back someone had posted some pictures of a red RT with a spider web decal/pinstrip (light grey or silver) on the frunk, trunk, and running down the sides. Wish to do something similiar on my RT but would be nice to have a picture. If anyone remembers this RT would appreciate your...

    Old School Pin-Striping on RT

I have been debating between doing pinstripping or some type of vinyl graphic wrap. Was recently told that any additional painting you do (like pinstripping) deters from your trade-in/resale value because no matter how well it's done it's not going to appeal to everyone thereby limiting the...

    Rear Tire Cost

Having the rear wheel & sprocket chromed, dealer noticed that the rear tire is almost worn down to the wear pads & suggested I might want to think about repalcing it as the rear end is all apart anyways it would save me some labor costs as opposed to getting another 2-3k out of the existing rear...

    FI Windshields

A good friend of mine rode with me to Maggee Valley this past June, we rode over to the fairgrounds Friday afternoon to register and then walked around and looked at some of the Sypders (always interesting to see how people mod thier Spyder). Later that evening back at the hotel, he mentioned...

    FI Windshields

I don't meant to stir up anything here as I know there is some bad blood regarding this topic, but whatever happened with F1 Windshields? I never really saw any of his "Mantis" farings, or his "Touring" set up and the last time I tried his blog it didn't come up. Just curious is all, as before...
