• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 Spyder RS-SE5 idle and running issue

If it is a 2014 RS it will be the twin.

    Rain riding

Yep I reckon another 10+ mph off the speed would have made a big difference. That would put me down to around 35 in a 60 zone. Have to watch out for anyone up your rear as well. Tires were getting down but very legal.

    Rain riding

I too had an issue a few weeks back. 90 miles on highways in constant rain without issue until I hit very uneven back roads near my Daughter's place. Rear wheel spun and Spydey danced a jig then did again all within about 200 hundred yards. 3 new tires (Hankook) on it now but too soon to know...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

New front tires so all 3 have been replaced now at 18,800 ks. Fronts now are 175x50x15 Hankook Kinergy eco K425 (215x60x15 K435 on the rear). At the moment 22 in the rear and 20 in the front.

    Epic Spyder Fails

Now I can post something relevant. Pulled the rear wheel and took it off to have a new Hankook Kinergy tire fitted. They couldn't balance it but no biggie as it is on the rear (thanks Mike for the advice). Installed the rear wheel and tightened everything up. Spun the wheel a few times and...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Removed rear wheel and took it down to have a Hankook Kinergy ECO 2 215x60x15 fitted. Whole process was easier than I first thought. An extra set of hands definitely helped out too.

    Epic Spyder Fails

As already replied to Peter's pm, apologies I hadn't realised the consequences. Please soft delete if you still can. Thanks for picking me up on it, much better than making the same mistake over and over and creating a negative domino effect.

    New Tires...Brand and Size

Rode 150ks in the pouring rain with no dramas, all highway and 3 ks from my daughters house hit a section with smooth melted bitumen and a small amount of water over it. Spydey danced quite a jig and it was definitely an undies soiling moment, well more than one as it then hit a 2nd patch and...

Nankang XR611 Rear 225/50R15 - fitted to RTL

Well that was scary! I now know what askitee was talking about and his experience with Kendas in wet weather. Rode 150ks in the pouring rain with no dramas, all highway and 3 ks from my daughters house hit a section with smooth melted bitumen and a small amount of water over it.:opps: Spydey...

Nankang XR611 Rear 225/50R15 - fitted to RTL

Border closed now so I can no longer enter NSW as I had to move to Qld so I could still go to work. Search is on for someone else or I will just have to bite the bullet and do it myself.

Nankang XR611 Rear 225/50R15 - fitted to RTL

Ecellent advice Frank I was wondering whether Pat would do it. I did speak to him a couple of times before I bought the Spyder (but never about tyres) and he sounds like a great guy. Wanted to get the tyres done and have him do an alignment too then I know everything will be spot on.

    New Tires...Brand and Size

Thanks Mike. I did look at the info on Tire Rack for the True Contact TOUR and they do indeed look great. As far as the Pro Contact as mentioned I am concerned at the variation in reviews on various sites. Always worries me when the comments/experiences are at complete odds with each other. As...

    New Tires...Brand and Size

Yep comes with the territory, small country and all that....and of course we are an island! The Conti Pro Contact gets somewhat mixed reviews so still tossing up......which is exactly what I might do....toss a coin. Difference in price is about $20 Aus per tire. The Vredesteins we can get out...

    New Tires...Brand and Size

Thanks Peter. You are right of course it comes down to personal choice and what I want from a tire. I take your point about longevity too as I am retiring soon so don't want to be forking out for tires on a regular basis as I want to be using Spydey more and as my main transport. Yep the tires I...
