• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Keyless Ignition

Hello I read in spyderlovers about Keyless Ignition, does anyone actually have one fitted to an RT1330? if so where did you get it. I realise you still need a key to lock / unlock the steering, can't understand BRP not going down that road Thanks for any input Alex

    Rear Wheel Bearings

Does anyone have any old RT rear wheel bearings, if so is there a number or letters and numbers stamped on them, if so can you tell me these numbers. The reason I ask is I am told by a bearing specialist that all bearings have a number that relates to therir size, the number is intenational so...

    Aluminium Corrosion

I ride everywhere all year round except where there's snow, unless I'm caught out in it. I thought bikes like this were made to be used, not parked in a garage and ogled at, most certainly not "OOH it's raining, I won't ride it incase it gets wet. 5 years ago I refurbed the salted wheels on my...

    Aluminium Corrosion

Are all Spyders like this or have I got the Friday afternoon one, on my 2014 RT, most of the aluminium parts are corroded to such an extent, I can peel the bubbling paint off with my fingers revealing a white dusty deposit under the paint, on the rear wheel hub, all the foot rests, footrest...

    Rear wheel centre stuck

HALLELUJAH, I got it off, I percevered with the WD40 finally trying a hair dryer to heat the rim part keeping away from the hub, a piece of wood and a club hammer and bit by bit it started to lift. A bit different to last time when it was much newer, I removed the bolts and it fell out. Big...

    Rear wheel centre stuck

Thanks for all your input. I think some of you thought it was the sprocket side I was trying to get off, that came off easily, it's the big centre hub where the rotor bolts onto, however dosed it 3 times in 24 hours with WD40, then used a mallet and a thick block of wood. Still would not move...

    Rear wheel centre stuck

RazzleH, it's not really a "coffee maker " in the true sense, it's a heating element that you put in a cup, I have a direct power socket in the L/H front speaker grill, just fused at 15A direct to the battery ( have a lithium battery), I put a cup of water in the L/H cup holder, leave the engine...

    Rear wheel centre stuck

Hi guys Anyone had this problem or got an easy way out. Rear Wheel 2014RT, removed the 5 nuts and bolts that hold the centre into the rim but it just won't budge, it's stuck I imagine with alloy corrosion, I'm loathed to hit it with anything, but I want to remove it to re paint it as the paint...

    Disc lock??

For my 2 wheelers, I bought an inexpensive DISC lock on ebay incorporating bleeping alarm on touch, also came with bright yellow springy tether so you don't forget and drive off, although cheap you'd have to be superman to break it. Alex

    RT 1330 Spark plug changeout. Parts 1 & 2

These filters would be no use at all, you would end up with no swear words, all the skin still intact on your knuckles, and more time to ride your bike, and be very happy Not what BRP intended.

    RT 1330 Spark plug changeout. Parts 1 & 2

Thanks for the info, was very helpful. Got primary box out left side, secondary box just pushed out enough to get to the 3rd plug. What a waste of time, bike done 38km plugs would have done another 38km. If NGK talk about 100km for their plugs wht do BRP less than halve it? often thought about...

    RT 1330 Spark plug change

HELP ANYONE: I'm trying to change the spark plugs on my 2014 1330 RT. I've got as far as trying to remove the primary air box (front one), I've undone the 2 bolts at the back and the 2 at the front through the aluminium bar, flipped off all hoses that I can see, lifted headlamp cable away,made...

How to run Headlights as Daylights - EU/AUS models

I completely agree with you, why didn't BRP use twin filament bulbs in the high position like everyone else, on the RT, the bottom half of the mirrored reflector actually masks the beam from the bulb reducing the lighting power of the low beam. Like I have said many timesand I firmly believe...

    Dead Spyder

Thanks for telling me, I had an idea it could be something in the fuse box but not got round to searching the schematic yet, will check it for bad connection or tarnished contacts. Thanks again, saved me a lot of searching. Alex

    Dead Spyder

So do I, I was insulted by its contents so I ripped the label off and re-labelled it sun shield. If you need a card like that you shouldn't be allowed to own a bike. Thanks for your input

    Dead Spyder

Never had it go blank before, only reduced to black bar top & bottom, never really gets that hot here. In the summer I do use the safety card as a sunblock, after all it has no other use.

    Dead Spyder

Was defimately more than screen shutdown, I pushed the eco button and at least the radio should have sprung into life, yes I did try to start it. Here in the north of France, in October sun would be good if we could get it. ALL dasboard lights were out, analogue gauge hands did not spin there...
