• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    1330 OIL REPORT

I'm going to ask a stupid question. For those of us too "broken" to work on our own bikes, what's wrong with just taking it into a dealer, and having the oil and filter changes done with the good old BRP stuff? I mean, really how much better are all those other oils?

NEW R-18 GoldWing Trike Now -N-North America

Since I got the Spyder, those just don't have the appeal they once had for me. They are a good looking trike. but you still have little to no factory support and the company that makes them is in Holland. I realize BRP doesn't have the best reputation for supporting us, but at least I can find...

    Octane does matter

Any "Brand Name" gas I can find at the recommended 91 or above. If I can get Shell 93 then I run that, other wise I just stick with the book. I burn roughly 500 gal a year thru it. At .40 cents more a gallon, that's $200 at the most difference in price.

    BRP Tires

Tires are like oil - there is no "best" one - only ones that individuals consider the best of whats available to them :yikes:

    BRP Tires

I'm fortunate. My dealer will do ANYTHING I ask him to. Mount and balance off brand tires, install a brake on the handle bars, or put in aftermarket shocks and sway bars he doesn't care. The service manager and the tech are happy to do anything to keep me a happy customer.

    BRP Tires

Ok - back to tires As of right now (on 2014 RTL MFG in Feb 2014 with almost 8000 miles on it) I'm running ALL new tires. The rear was pretty much gone at 7000 so I replaced it with a Michelin Hydroedge 215 / 60 / 15. If they did a new rear compound it was after February. Then when we had it...

I just spent the best $800 I ever spent

Be aware that these shocks are built for your weight and what you are carrying . It took about 2 weeks to get mine from the factory. You can also save a couple hundred by getting just the Stage 1's without the rebound control settings (1+R's). Unless you (or your mechanic) has a lot of shock...

I just spent the best $800 I ever spent

Being an old "racer", I'm used to having to spend money on a new bike to get it up to "snuff" so the expense didn't bother me. As long as it does what I need it to. Since the factory is interested in profit, they are going to use the cheapest thing that will work, not necessarily the best...
