• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Genius maps has now become useless.

That might be your cable. I notice with my Samsung that some cables will charge faster than others using the same outlet adapter. If BRP didn't put at least a 2.1A outlet in then I don't think you will get an iPhone to charge from it at all.

Genius maps has now become useless.

The 13.2 update is supposedly out now, and is supposed to fix some of the issues with genius maps. Rever is also supposed to be updating the app to fix issues with it crashing.

    Credit card skimmer

You can use skimmers with chip readers for the moment. If the chip reader fails enough times it will just let you swipe the card. I had this happen to me at one store that didn't like the chip on my card. It was a large chain store not a mom and pop place either. Eventually once everyone goes...

    Clutchless transmision

Thanks all. I gave the same explanation as BillyBovine gave, as that's what I've been told also. That is why you need to keep the rpms over 4200 as much as possible, as that is the point when the clutch is fully engaged. I even showed the clutch page from the service book, and was told that the...

Question - to any and all Math Majors

Have you looked at gas struts, but not using very heavy ones. Just enough to assist in lifting, but not enough to raise it in its own. Like the hatchback on a car. If I unlatch it the hatch won't raise very much on its own, but it helps take the effort from lifting.

    Clutchless transmision

I was told today by any authority on Spyders that the SE5 for the 2008, and 2009 models doesn't have a clutch. They have a clutch less manual transmission. That's the first I have every heard of the that in an early Spyder. Is this accurate? I was always told that the SE5 basically has a...

2009 can am Spyder gs se5 sprocket replacement

I've replaced mine and it's not that hard. If you do a search you can find some posts that will tell you how to remove the lower bolt for the rear shock. This is an easy way to get the belt off without changing the alignment or tension. Then the pulley comes off easily. Like the others have said...

Do Dealers charge for the BRP Connect update

They might be charging if you bring your Spyder in just to get the update. No different than if you bring it in and have them look at something in BUDS. I would contact BRP, but I would think it would be updated as part of a scheduled service for free. Generally that's when that would happen...

    Help explaining Airline Charges

Compassion went out the window, when the shareholders started telling the CEO's that if you don't raise profits every year, we will find someone who can.

    Help explaining Airline Charges

It's simple, how many Banks are there versus airlines? Less choices means the consumer has less options to go someplace else I'd they don't like the service. Like others have said we have been screwed over by our own choices to always save a buck versus getting better service.

My hay customer and I got scammed. Can anyone explain??

It's possible to clone a cell phone. It's not easy and the technology isn't cheap. Don't think that because he seems uneducated, that he's not working for someone who is educated. With enough information about you, they could even get the phone company to change your account information. You...

Disappointing maiden voyage on new to us Spyder

Run the VIN through BRP's website. I seem to remember there being a recall or a TSB for water in the fuse boxes. I also seen a posting on Facebook I think from James Thorne about the seals going bad on the fuse block cover over time and letting water in. I have a feeling the liquid in the fuse...

    2016 ST-S and Hot Feet

The curved panels are there to keep water from getting on your feet. The highway pegs that Lamontster sells mount right in front of those and curve back towards you, so you could use them even with shorter legs. The older models used to blow hot air from the radiator out along the side of the...

    Find us (SpyderLovers) on Facebook

I use both FB and S/L. I see many times people asking questions on FB, that get directed here for answers. The wealth of knowledge here, both in posts and people posting is a lot more then you get on FB. Keep the good work going here.

the dreaded black hole under the seat

Tell your friend to next time stuff a rag in the black hole first. You might be able to get them out with a magnet on a string, but if you don't, I think you will be ok, though you might start to rattle like an old Harley! 😂😂😂

Logic behind lifting entire leg to use brakes on 2016 RT-S rear brake pedal--

I noticed the same issue when I sat on both an RT and am F3. I'm used to the pegs on my GS and you just slide your foot over. I found that with my riding boots on I couldn't angle my ankle enough to raise my toes over the foot pedal for the brake. I had floorboards on my Vulcan 900 and never had...

Adding cruise control to a 2015 RS SE5

If you do a search. There was a thread from someone that added the cruise control without getting a new control. Just adding in the knob themselves. The Spyder electrical systems are known to be touchy at times, and they are not the best at actually following wire diagrams while building them...

I had the same thing happen to mine. I made sure when I put the replacement in to add some lock Tite to the set screw.

Battery tender connection-where the heck is it?

Some dealers will install the pig tail connectors for a battery tender on every bike they sell. You may have seen posts from people that bought from one of these dealers. As far as I know, they don't come from BRP installed.
