• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Butt Burner Gold 1500 miles in 24 hours

Can't do that. IBA limits the maximum amount of miles between gas stops. You MUST stop within a reasonable amount of time for gas, AND have gas receipts with locations on them (and a time stamp too) to prove you did it. IBA wants you to get off the bike and walk around every few hours. Not...

Guess $.0036 per mile isn't THAT bad !

I'll spend more per mile on cheeseburgers in 28,000 miles. It's all relative.

what happen to the brp connect app.

I just got my 2018 RT Limited updated to version 20.80 today. Is there a new Apple app now, or does the previous one still work?

    Trunk Rack.

New Spyder owner, and I'm not knocking the trunk rack. But have an honest question about it. The warning label on my 2018 Limited says do not exceed 20 lbs load for the trunk. How do you fill the trunk up, then strap another bag on top of it without exceeding the 20 lb limit? I'm just...

Butt Burner Gold 1500 miles in 24 hours

The Bun Burner Gold is the hardest Iron Butt there is when you do the math. And it can be the one that will get you in trouble if you aren't realistic about it. I've done several SS1000's on two wheels (before my accident 3 years ago). They are a piece of cake if you get proper rest before...

    Go Pro

Regardless of mounted on the bike or your helmet, it's just a thumb screw that tightens the camera to the mount. So you always unscrew the camera and lock it inside the bike, even if you helmet lock your helmet to the bike and walk away. Anybody could walk up, unscrew the thumbscrew, and take...

    Go Pro

I used a Hero 2 for 5 years on my Honda. I mounted mine on my helmet because anyplace else on the bike on a RAM mount there would be vibration in the videos. Now that I have my Spyder I've been looking at buying the new Hero 7 because it has supposedly solved the "vibration" problem and videos...

    Spyder home

:2thumbs: No problem with hijacking my newbie thread. I never felt that way about it. And now you can come out of that fetal position holed up in your bedroom waiting for all that snow to melt. Have Fun and Ride Safe! PS - I hope you chose the Burger King Paper Crown. They're a lot cooler...

Trouble with Cardo Packtalk and BRP Connect

@McClendons, OK, I just saw the other post about the 20.8 software update. You mention a 13.2 version. Are those two different software apps? What do I need to do to get the "most current" versions of "everything"? Go to dealer and have them update it all (using their "special cables"...

Trouble with Cardo Packtalk and BRP Connect

FWIW, I recently got a 2018 RT Limited and a new helmet with the Cardo Freecom4+. I don't even mess with the BRP Connect. It's not stable at all yet. It appears to have something to do with using the frunk USB port. When I was looking to purchase my Spyder, the dealer couldn't even get my...

    Newbie Confused About Luggage

OK, some of the advice posts here are really confusing for a new Spyder owner, and might cause someone to buy something that won't work for them. I just barely avoided that. I have a new 2018 RT Limited. Based on the thread answers here to my OP question (where I said I had a 2018 RT Limited...

Do we like modular helmets or not???

This is probably gonna upset some people, but I'm a realist. So..... If ANY helmet is "too noisy", it simply means you aren't wearing enough ear protection. With today's technology, you can find $20 earplugs in all sizes that are not foam and won't muffle every sound you hear. Musicians...

Do we like modular helmets or not???

Modular for me. Most of the common complaints about them aren't true anymore (but once were). 1. Quality ones are certified both U.S. DOT and European ECE (more stringent requirements than DOT) safety standards. This includes the lockable chin bar. It is required to meet stringent ("I won't...

Who Rides a Spyder to Work?

If you're retired in Las Vegas, you have to find a different reason to ride. Like 120 miles one-way to Laughlin for a Bubba Gumps lunch. But it still counts as work, 'cos it's uphill with a headwind both ways.

Who Rides a Spyder to Work?

I would if I had a job. And lived in a different city other than Las Vegas. There are just too many tourists here not paying attention to their driving, and free alcohol is served in almost all casinos, that it isn't worth the risk (to me) to use a motorcycle as a commuter here. Local police...

    Newbie Confused About Luggage

OK, sorry all, but I gotta ask one more question. The Hopnel 2-bag top case set. It says the small bag goes on the bottom and the large(r) bag sits on top of it. My 2018 Limited has a fold down "tray" that is velcro'd to hold it up when it's in the up position (not being used). Am I assuming...

    Newbie Confused About Luggage

OK, thanks. Yeah, some of the posts referencing them were from the 2010 - 2014 time frame, so they may have been included back then. It's just a little confusing for an "I'm a newbie owner here" seeing those posts if things have changed. So I thought I'd better ask first. I'm gonna shy away...

    Can-Am luggage

I know this is 3 and 1/2 years since the quoted post above, but don't drink the Kool-Aid about Amazon Prime always being the best price. The Amazon listed price is $79.90 with free shipping. The current Bestem site itself sells them for $44.96, and my UPS shipping to Las Vegas, NV (almost...

    Newbie Confused About Luggage

I bought a 2018 RT Limited. Started looking for luggage options today. I know about the "pricy" Can Am specific accessories from the Can Am site. I've found several other posts on the forum about everything from the Hopnel sets, the Bestum's (which I used on my Honda NT700VA and really...

    Ear / Hearing Protection

:agree: :agree: :agree: I'm new here as a 5-day new Spyder owner. But I fully support the Etymotic recommendation. I already had tinnitus from military service when I started riding my Honda NT700VA in 2010. If you don't already have tinnitus, you DON'T want it. I tried the "foam"...
