• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks to Joe & Ann @ Squared Away

It's the basic "Moon" stitch pattern from Russell. Same pattern I had on my NT too. I liked it because it has a lot less stitching and with my choice of full leather it reduces the possible water seeping places water can seep into the seat (the leather stitching is not waterproof, so I always...

Thanks to Joe & Ann @ Squared Away

Joe, Along with the 2 12mm wrenches I had, what was the size of the ratchet head to remove the bolt on the arm? Luckily the other rider had a tool set that had the ratchet and head to fit the bolt. Or is there already something in the toolkit that came with my Spyder for that bolt?

Thanks to Joe & Ann @ Squared Away

Seeing a different "shout out" posted today for one of our vendors, I figured Joe & Ann deserved one too for the assistance they provided Monday that saved my road trip to get my new Russell seat. I had left my house Monday morning to ride to Shasta Lake, CA for my Russell ride-in appointment...

    Something new and questions

You missed the target. When Russell rebuilds a seat using your own seat pan, they rebuild WHATEVER is needed for the seat to fit you. If they move you back by moving back the seat pocket, the backrest position will get moved back also. And the backrest will still be adjustable both vertically...

    Self Leveling

These kind of threads are so sad. So much mis-information, and I've seen it happen over and over again since I joined this forum with my new 2018 Spyder RT LIMITED 3 months ago. So let's get things right. 1. There are TWO different types of "ACS Rear Suspension Adjustment" on a 2018 Spyder...

Anyone use Markel American Insurance Company for Spyder Insurance?

As Bob said, it's almost impossible to compare two people's different insurance costs nationwide. There are just too many variables involved. Location, accident and claim statistics for individual areas (even from one side of a city to the other...insurance rates here in Las Vegas will change...

    Mountain Switchbacks - be careful

It's all relative. Here in the desert southwest where it doesn't rain very often (seasonal though), the first 30 minutes after it starts raining can be very hazardous for 2-wheels, 3-wheels, AND 4-wheels. I see people sliding through intersections here in Las Vegas all the time right after it...

    Parking Brake

OK. That's not the way your original post read to me, but OK. I was just asking based on the Owner's Manual instructions. They say nothing about using a dolly, so I asked. And your original post said nothing about using a flatbed, so I asked that too. We can move on now.

Bike turn in due to lemon??

Just curious. What does the South Carolina DMV register a Spyder as? Here in Nevada it gets registered as a "roadster". Would the SC "motorcycle three-wheel vehicle" include that definition? Is the Spyder registered as a "motorcycle" in SC?

    Parking Brake

Are you sure that won't void a warranty or at least raise questions with Mother BRP? My 2018 RTL Owner's Manual says (with pictures) my RT should be towed on a flatbed and tied down as shown in the manual. Can you cite where BRP would agree to me having my RTL towed on the ground with a dolly...

What Tire gauge are you all using?

Don't get paranoid about trying to match tire pressures to tenths of a PSI between tires. You are not riding/driving a Formula One or NASCAR racing machine at the extreme limits of it's performance curve trying to squeak out the last one-hundredth of a second lap time on your commute to work or...

    Is this normal?

Consider the wife to be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) part of the Spyder. Above all else, do everything you can to NOT have to replace that. Just sayin'. :lecturef_smilie: :D

Talk me into buying a Spyder - A few reservations

Many of the things you seem to want to disconnect are safety features designed into the Spyder. Whether you like them or not, if they are issues for you, it seems to me you should be looking for something else. Why on Earth would you want to spend $XX,XXX for a "bike" then start disconnecting...

Of course they are. The UCMJ makes many misdemeanor civilian offenses a federal crime that can result in a felony conviction in a Courts Martial. I can tell my civilian employer to "Go To Hell" and the worst that can happen to me is I get fired. Do that to my military supervisor and I can...

    2018 RT Limited...Bluetooth blues

Not sure what you are asking you can do with the phone when it is connected to the BRP app, but the owner's manual specifically states the phone's direct input functions are disabled when connected to the BRP app through the frunk's USB port. So if you can't do the things you want to do using...

I'm not arguing with you about the rims and what kind of tires they can use. The real question is, "Why don't motorcycle dealers want to put car tires on motorcycles?" WE can debate that all day long. But the only person who knows the real answer is the dealers. And THEIR LAWYERS. I...

    Vredestein Quatrac 5

That is true. But the key difference is HD "sells their trikes with auto tires mounted as OEM tires" to begin with. An attorney would have a hard time winning a lawsuit about an "aftermarket car tire" causing an accident or injury being the DEALER'S fault in the future if all they did was...

    Park brake

OK, I crawled on my garage floor (I'm really getting too old for that kinda stuff :D) and took a look. So are you saying that I would loosen the front nut first, THEN the back nut ALSO, then just slide the cable out of the caliper (towards the front of the bike), then just retighten both the...

    Vredestein Quatrac 5

:agree: That. In Australia, it's the law, so a dealer doesn't have to worry about getting their *sses sued off if they "put a car tire on a motorcycle". In the U.S. I can understand the reluctance of dealers to do it. We live in the "Land of Litigation" here. It's been absurd for quite a...

    Park brake

My 8-week old 2018 RTL parking brake wouldn't release for the first time 2 days ago in a parking lot. It finally released after turning off/on the key and recycling through the digital dash startup 4 times. I already had an appointment scheduled for yesterday at my dealer for the 3000 miles...
