• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New rims from BRP

I saw this Spyder at Daytona and the BRP rep said that the rims will be available in a few months. Notice the rear as well.

Who has the best foot Floorboards?

I also saw the Industrial Specialties ones in Daytona. They are just starting to gear up to make quite a few items for the Spyder. They have an awesome parking brake pedal as well.

Great pix! Hope to be there by March 4th.

Ok I have a burning Question

Icon riding jeans, and either a mesh armored jacket or a leather jacket. Full face helmet. But this is Florida and things might change when the suck-oven heat  begins.

    Got my SE-5 back!

As some of you know from reading the threads, my 2009 SE-5 has spent six weeks at the dealer for the not uncommon shifting problems-- mine having the tendency to stick in one gear or another until a ride would become so frustrating that, well, I won't say what I was thinking. Anyway, I picked it...

    Bathing The Baby

If you just can't live with the unpainted black plastic when it is not at its blackest (?) try Mother's "Back to Black". It is especially good when one accidentally gets wax on the black plastic and it really becomes unsightly, and no amount of scrubbing can remove it.

2009 SE5 Owners still having shifting problems?

I've had nothing but problems with my new 2009 SE-5. I suffered through 1,800 miles with it, sticking in just about every gear, including neutral. Very embarrassing and quite dangerous when you are in traffic. It has been at the dealer now for SIX weeks and as of 2/13/09, no one can tell me when...

    BajaRon...BRP update?

If you are referring to me, LDFIREWORKS, mine's in Leesburg. This is going on week number 6. I called again today and the service manager was not there again, and no one has any idea about what is happening. And this saga continues . . . . . . :banghead:

    BajaRon...BRP update?

I guess I'm a member of that same club. My new 2009 SE-5 has been at the dealer now for FIVE weeks. It sticks in gear. Supposedly, they are going to change a spring and some sort of gear position indicator or perhaps it is a relay. Being in Florida makes this no fun at all since we have had...

    Spyder service manual on DVD

Bought the Midwest Manuals one. I have no clue whether it is complete or not but I really like the PDF format.

    Nitrogen in Tires

It's best to keep the air and check your pressures regularly. I believe the nitrogen thing is hype for everyday driving, but perhaps it may have an advantage over air in race car tires.

    SE5 Owners

Didn't know there was a recall. My Spyder is a 2009 SE-5 and is plagued with shift problems. Been at the dealer now for a month and so far they have done absolutely nothing. Any detail on the recall number or service bulletin number they used for that spring?

    Overheating in Parade

"Parade riding on an air cooled bike is hell from what I hear, the overheat...its a given." Actually, big twin Harleys are rated for "parade duty" and seldom overheat in the conditions you described. Perhaps your fans were not engaging as they should have.

Lookin' good! Hope you can finish it for Daytona!

High Idle Problem on Electronic Shift

My 2009 SE-5 has been in the shop for a month now for shifting problems. The problem is intermittent, and the dealer can't duplicate it with his little rides around the parking lot so it looks as if they won't fix it. Going to get it back and try somewhere else as I feel that getting stuck in...

    Pensacola Motosports service report

My first service at 625 miles cost $306 for the SE-5. They changed the oil and filter, but DID NOT change the transmission filter. I thought that Harley prices were high!

    Super Bowl Owners Pic

Glad so many could make it! Would have been there (I'm from FL) but my '09 SE5 has been at the dealer for TWO WEEKS for shifting problems and I'm still not sure when I'll get it back and if it will be cured. It's great that BRP held such an event!

    Sounds like a somewhat tame 1098 . . . fierce and awesome!

Strike 2 Can-Am...one more and yer out!

Sorry to hear about your problems. I can relate as my new SE-5 doesn't want to come out of first gear (been doing it for a few months sporadically) and it really sucks to be stuck in traffic with no place to get off the road. The dealer can't seem to replicate the problem and will not do...
