• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Yet another SE5 problems thread...

I believe the latest service bulletin is 2009-1. It addresses the spring and angle sensor. My SE performed better after that fix, but still sticks in gear although not as often.

How many keep a Spyder and a 2-wheel motorcycle?

Spyder, Ducati 1098, and H-D Road King! Gotta have those 2-wheelers, although lately they've been getting a bit of rest because of the Spyder!

    Evoluzione air intake system

I have searched for threads concerning the Evoluzione airbox setup, and have been unsuccessful in finding any information. Just wondering if this could be used alone with the Hindle exhaust without any other modifications.

    Ask the BRP/Spyder Engineers Questions

Will there ever be a fix for the troublesome SE transmissions that continually stick in gear? My dealer has done the program update, changed a spring and an electronic module, and it worked for about 700 miles. Now it is back to sticking in gear again. Makes for a dangerous situation especially...

    Question for do-it-yourself oil changers . . .

Got it done, guys, and thanks for the encouragement. The trick for the drain plugs was the 6-mm socket with the 3/8 drive. NAPA store, 6 bucks. A regular 5-mm allen wrench sufficed for the filters. Total cost with 4 quarts of BRP oil (already had 1/2 quart), crush washers, one "O" ring...

    Question for do-it-yourself oil changers . . .

I'm getting ready to do my 3K oil change on my 2009 SE, and Lamont's step-by-step guide made it very easy-- so far. The drain plugs seem as if someone welded them in place. Just wondering if any of you experienced tight plugs, and how you removed them. First, I know I need to go to Sears or...

    For those who have SE-5 doubts . . . .

aka1004, what happened to you at the intersection describes exactly what has happened to me many times. If we were in cars instead of our Spyders, it would not be quite as dangerous. But several times I had to climb off and push my Spyder to the side. With motorists in such a hurry, it's a...

    For those who have SE-5 doubts . . . .

Congrats, HQRNY12, I hope the shifting works out well for you. Mine has started to stick in gear again, but it is very sporadic. Some days I'll ride for 150 miles and nothing. The next day it is sticking in gears again. Dealer says to "just ride it".

    For those who have SE-5 doubts . . . .

As some of you remember from my previous posts, my 2009 SE-5 was plagued with shifting problems-- primarily sticking in one gear or another. The dealer downloaded a "patch" but this did not remedy the problem. After a 6-week stay at the dealer and my call to BRP, the dealer replaced a module and...

    New rims from BRP

Not to change this thread, but to answer burg650s question, I did indeed ask the rep about the problems with the SE-5 since mine was one of them. He said he had no knowledge of any problems, and that BRP was increasing production of that particular model because of increased demand.
