• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My 600 Mile Service Results – Your opinion?

What interests me is 20 hours and 612 miles. Mine went in at 605 miles and 13.5 hours. We do have a lot of back roads with speed limits reaching 65 mph, and I'm guessing that's why.

Where did you find out about the Spyder?

Went into a UJM dealer looking for a pair of gloves and saw a Spyder on the floor. Salesman told me about the Factory Demo Tour, gave me a phone number to register, and the rest is history. Oh, I did get a nice pair of Alpine Stars gloves as well.

    Bar Ends/Anti Vibe from BRP

The bar end weights worked well for me. My "test" was to ride the Spyder without my gel-insert gloves. A noticeable lack of vibration, which is nice, but I'll still wear the gloves!

    Caliper trim kit

If you have already tried to stick the trim on with the self-stick adhesive that is on the trim and it does not work, carefully scrape the adhesive off in about three places and use silicone glue. That happened to me on one side and I used Gorilla Glue and it is holding perfectly.

Rear pulley Group buy? Which manufacturer?

I'm quite content with the way it is. The Rotax loves being above 4000 RPM, whereas my Road King loves to chug at low RPMs. Just a matter of getting used to it.

Flipped it. In need of cosmetic repairs

Bonecrusher, I totally agree. Put your nose as close to the mirror in the direction of your turn as you can reach, lay on the gas, and go. You can't be a passive rider on these things. I don't carry a passenger, but I can imagine that a passenger will suffer the same effects of force as a...

If omly BRP would pay me to advertise

One or two more, retread. Francis Barnett (a trials bike), Saracen, Rokon, CCM, D.O.T. (stood for Devoid of Trouble) and my first road race bike, a Bridgestone! I'm sure Scotty can come up with some more.

    TBR header pipe?

I have the Two Brothers carbon duals installed in my SM and absolutely love the difference in performance over a stock can, and like this setup even more than the Hindle I had on my SE. I was at the dealer today for the 600 mile check and noticed another Spyder with the same TBR exhaust system...

    To loud

Check out this link. Part number 005-P1 http://www.twobros.com/cgi-bin/shopper?preadd=action&key=005-P1 TBR claims a DB reduction of 4-5 dB.

If omly BRP would pay me to advertise

Many many years ago, in my days of motorcycle racing, my dad was appalled that I paid 5 bucks for a shirt that said "Bultaco Motorcycles" and most of all that I was actually going to wear it! He thought they should be paying me for advertising! I actually thought of that at Leesburg Bike Fest...

Flipped it. In need of cosmetic repairs

Keep an eye out on Ebay. I saw an entire engine on there yesterday, complete with throttle and clutch lever. It seems like someone is parting out a Spyder.

How do you clean your Spyder?

Wukka, I use a blower to get rid of the residual droplets as well. Started using that on my Harley years ago since it removes the water from between the cooling fins. Works great, and the wipe-down process becomes less tedious. I also love the Quick Detailers (Mother's, etc.) and I have always...
