• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Fender tip light kit . . . any hints on installation?

The kit from NMN hasn't arrived yet, but I've got the Spyder stripped and ready. Looks as if the connector for the TIPS is right in the middle of the bike and I can barely reach it with my short arms! But I'll give it my best shot!

Fender tip light kit . . . any hints on installation?

Thanks, fastfraser, just bought the ebay lights. Is the turn signal wire easy to find? About the only thing I've done is change oil, and remove most of the panels just to look inside.

Fender tip light kit . . . any hints on installation?

I just ordered the NMN tips kit and the mud flap lights. The video about the mud flap lights posted here is great. Wondering how difficult it is to install the fender tip lights, especially the part where the single wire attaches to the turn signal wire. Any hints, and is a tester necessary?

What's best for Cleaning the Windshield? Anyone use Pledge?

You're correct, patches. I forgot to mention how great it works on helmet shields.

What's best for Cleaning the Windshield? Anyone use Pledge?

After I get a heavily-bugged windscreen cleaned, I apply "Plexus", which can be obtained at most bike shops. It was originally developed for aviation use, and provides a slick coating to plastic windshields similar to Rain-X for glass. It does not scratch, and bugs can be removed easily with...

    Day Long Saddle ?

Just ordered the new saddle from BRP. The picture looks good, and I like the idea of it using the stock mount. I've sat on the Corbin and like it, but I'm not too happy about the two separate pieces. Dealer said I could return it if I wasn't satisfied, and the price was right.

    FOAMING OIL

I noticed the foam on top of the oil tank as well. It "settles" after a bit, and I'm sure it will not cause any problems engine-wise. It seems to be a characteristic of dry-sump systems such as the one used in the Spyder.

    checking oil

:agree: I noticed that sometimes the oil will be foamy after a ride, and if you let it sit for awhile, it seems to give a better reading. I thought mine was overfilled as well, but it was right on the mark when it settled.

    Stupid Question

Great answer, bjt. I took my Spyder to a "bike night" and there was a Gold Wing trike rider who was chatting with me and he said that he took a friend's Spyder for a ride and it was definitely much easier to handle than his trike.

    Engine Ice coolant?

I performed a search here, and perhaps I missed, but I was wondering if anyone has tried "Engine Ice" coolant? Some of the Ducati riders I know swear that it drops the coolant temperature between 30 and 40 degrees. That's kind of hard to believe, but they insist that their bikes run much cooler...
