• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Checking oil level

Try this and see if it'll work for you. You can check and adjust the engine oil level (fallowing correct procedures ie. at operating temperature) without having to screw the dip stick in every time. Simply set the dip stick down against the threads and the full mark is now at the center of...

How critical is the oil dip stick O ring?

Here's another possibility just posted from sharbill on the other thread; Had the same thing happen to me. Looked high and lower for the o ring. Finally found the o ring laying down between the oil tank and the black tupperware. Very difficult to see and retrieve, had to use mechanical...

    VIN

In addition to the link from Jerbear the VIN locations on the RT can be found in the Operators Guide as follows: 2010 - Page 152 2011 - Page 156 2012 - Page 158 2013 - Page 164 Unfortunately none of the guides specify "On the front right side where the lower "A" arm attaches to the lower...

    Pure Gas App

Used pure-gas.org (get the app and POI file for your GPS here) just the other day to scope out stations in the area. Found those you have mentioned. The Signal station on the corner of Hwy J and N 17th St. in Ozark, across the street from Lambert's and on the way to Vendor Village, is gonna be busy!

    Is this normal?

In addition to everything else mentioned here your fuel may very well be boiling. Unscrew the cap and listen. You'll hear it. You may also be able to observe fumes blowing out the vent hose beneath your frame. And perhaps a drop or two of fuel on the floor as the vapors condense on the end of...

    2 Wheels

Did that myself not long ago. My wife was on the back. She wasn't exactly overjoyed. I've beat nanny to the punch a couple of times. But still if I try to make a turn too aggressively she reminds me she's still watching. The ones I don't like are those turns across oncoming traffic. Makes me...

EARLY ARRIVAL DINNER GET TOGETHER LAMBERTS FOR DINNER

Re-post due to earlier eviction ;-) Sounds like a plan to us! Lambert's Cafe is on our list of things to do at least once while we are in the area. As a heads up (and to repeat what's already been stated) bring cash, or your check book (travelers checks will probably work too.) They do not...

    Distance to SpyderFest

Last year my wife and I rode from Tulsa, OK. to Omaha, NE. which, according to Google Maps, is 384 miles (US-75 N) and a few minutes shy of seven hours. We took eleven hours by the time we reached our destination stopping for breakfast, lunch, and every hour and a half or so for gas and a break...

    Lubing the A Arm Bushings

For those of you who have changed the grease fittings I assume the Zerks are metric like everything else on the Spyder but what size are they? 5mm, 6mm,...? Thanks Ron for the photo of the right angle grease coupler. Don't think you can get to the upper rear Zerks, on an RT at least, coming...

    Oil fill

I agree with the posts above and pretty much proceed in the same manner. To develop further "In the world of Spyder oil quantities there appears to be no absolute truths (Rattigan_Roger)", reading on page 52 of the Shop Manual I quoted from earlier I find the following: NOTE: The oil level...

    Oil changing question

My intention was to continue with the oil I had which is why I sampled it when I did. Actually it was a bit longer than I intended but things happen, such as your pending trip to MO and back, that can result in crossing the (BRP) line. But, given the dilution that didn't happen. Had it not been...

    Oil changing question

From BRP: Those improved filters have been developed to: – Improve oil filtration – Improve SE5 shifting performance – Allow to use the new extended maintenance schedule (Except for units registered in California). BOTH the new filters must be installed BEFORE using the new extended maintenance...
