• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Mounting your Spyder

Minority report Started to mount from the right side when I bought my first Spyder. Reason, it was a SE5 and I typically start it warming up while I put on the rest of my gear before mounting. Why the right? Most times I do not shift into neutral before I shut it down and need to depress the...

    helmet communication

Communication I have an old chatterbox not the latest, does not compare to my Cardo scala rider. Wife and I have good connections while riding. At 65+mph some problem with phone Bluetooth. Once connected works well, but voice command to make call has mixed results. At lower speeds everything...

    Minnesota SpyderLovers October 13th Ride

Oh, I'll be there Like to ride, don't mind the cold, rain does not bother me on the spyder. Just don't like the combination cold and wet. Weatherman is fudging on the forecast now. Rain may stay south of the TC and not hit the north until late in the day or evening.

    Possible Driving Light ??

A arm mounting I tried that location on my 2008 GS. Worked very well but when driving at night on less than good roads I did not like the bouncing light pattern. Other drivers kept flashing their lights at me. I tried aiming them lower but then the light beam was almost worthless. Ended up...

What size trailer for RT and Road King?

trailer for 2 toys My tandem axel trailer is not enclosed but I can easily haul my 2011 RTS and Yamaha Rhino on it. The dimensions are 72" by 192", or 6 feet by 16 feet. It does not have a V nose just a storage box on the front. The ATV goes on first as it is heavier. The spyder then nests...

    magneto charging voltage

voltage measurement I connected two jumper wires to the terminals under the seat. Getting to both battery terminals and making a good connection with the jumpers was more work than I wanted. I put banana plugs on the end of the jumpers and plugged them directly into the digital VOM. Held...

    magneto charging voltage

You are correct, since each cell is 2.1 volts a 12 volt battery has 6 cells so the total voltage should be 12.6 volts. My battery may be getting old or not in the best shape. It starts the spyder without any problems. Just listing my observations, of course my cheap (harbor freight) digital...

    magneto charging voltage

I keep hearing people saying that the spyder magneto does not charge at low RPM's and you must run above 5000 RPM to charge the battery. I questioned this so I did some tests on my 2011 RT-S with 6000 miles on the clock. The results are as follows. Conditions...

Updates on updates Spoke to my friend and his explanation mirrors the information Scotty provided. Normal service includes updates, special service i.e. problems that surface requiring updates may or may not be charged for by the dealer. It is their call. In his case there was an update...

    Update charges

updates The question still needs to be answered. The original situation perhaps clouded the issue. If BRP comes out with updates for the software in the spyder. Are we expected to pay the dealer for doing the update? The TB problem is a good example. If you do not bring your spyder in for...

    Update charges

I found some posts that addressed this in the past. Now I wonder if there has been a change. Spoke to a friend this afternoon. He returned from a 6 day ride. Early on he was having some starting and idling problems on a 2010 RT. Stopped by a dealer ( not where he purchased or has his...
