• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Oil change fun

The Vtwin engine on 2013 RTL is a dry sump design so there are two places to drain oil, I know, it's a pain. Also the way they design the frame, it's really really hard to get to the transmission filter. But I've done it twice so far on my Spyder. Just to make it easier I put it up on three car...

2013 RT with garmin nuvi 665-information on radio stuff needed

As far as I can tell, the answer is no, you cannot connect your smart phone to your 2013 RT since the RT does not have bluetooth. I have 2013 RT-L and it only has the old style 30-pin iPod connector which works well but you can't connect to newer phones, android or iPhone. I purchased a 30-pin...

    998cc Air Scoops Heat mgt

I saw that Spyderpops heat blocker a few weeks ago but haven't really looking into it. Before I saw the heat blocker, I used a piece of thick plastic to cover the lower outlet to see if it helps with the hot air flow direction, did not help covering lower outlet. I then remove the plastic piece...

Wife’s butt falls asleep on 2021 RTL seat. Got any suggestions?

I think it's about time for somebody to make massage seats for the Spyder, and heated too. Cheers!

I think a dab of grease on the rubber belt would neither hurt nor help. Cheers!

    2015 RS SE5 stuck in 2nd gear

I had similar problem with my 2013 RTL - vtwin SE5, it down shift at red-light then stuck on 1st gear, but there was no error code. I got it - flat bed - to a dealer service shop and they just had to reset the transmission control computer, everything is fine so far 300 miles later. Take a 13mm...

    Interesting video on helmet safety.

I would only believe info from true helmet makers/researchers. And you know who they are. Thanks to freedom of speech in this country, anybody can say anything they want, and people willing to say untrue and/or falsify info just to make a few bucks from you tube regardless of consequences...

    Metal valve stems

Rubber valve stems will get brittle and crack, It happened to me on a 4year old stem. Aluminum stems get corroded. I don't really think ones better than the other. if you have TPMS on your car(s), most tire stores will replace aluminum stems for $12 ea. when you get new tires. Costco charge $3.

    Metal valve stems

On my Rebel 1100, Honda use 90 degree alloy valve stems, easier to check tire pressure and add nitrogen in the tires, (I use 78% nitrogen in all my tires.) I couldn't ask for more. Cheers!

    Reliability of the Spyder

Hi all, First of all, I have a 2013 Spyder RT-L, I don't think mine is more or less reliable than the 14 Japanese motorcycles I've had over the 4 decades. I think the problem is BRP set their price too high for the Spyder models and owners expect prefect bullet proof machines. IMHO, I think...

    Has anyone used vinyl pinstriping?

I want to make my pearl white RT-L to look like a zebra or even a cow with black vinyl cutouts. I think that would be easy because you don't have to cut perfect lines. What do you guys think? Cheers!

    Switching between Spyder and motorcycle

I have never given up the two-wheel world entirely, last year when I bought the RT-L I was having '09 Vstar 1300 and '13 CB1100. I like both those bikes but my legs said no to the Vstar, so I had to sell it, it had 6400 miles at the time. I like the comfy of the Spyder and I like the sportiness...

    998cc Air Scoops Heat mgt

I have a 2013 RT-L and I had the air scoop/heat problem recall performed last year. I have noticed that the little glove box is not as hot as before, also help with the upper body panels. So the scoops definitely help with the hot air flow; also with the recall, a few insulation panels were...

Checking Tire pressure- How often ?

I recently purchased a Ryobi battery operated air pump for $30, 18V battery not included, best $30 I have spent in recent years. I used that on anything with a Schader valve and Presta valve too. Cheers!

    Learn from my mistake!

I usually put a piece of colorful velcro on the throttle grip to remind me that the vehicle is not in operable condition, wether charging or disc lock is on -on my Honda Rebel. Be glad that was only a battery charger and not other more expensive parts. Cheers!

    Elevation -- Auto Tune?

I do not think you need to do anything as far as the fuel injection and cooling system are concerned, if that's what you're talking about. Most modern vehicles, Spyder models included, have way too many sensors, air temp and air pressure for example, for the environment they are in. We live here...
