• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I got a quote for Best Warranty - WOW!

For my 2017, I purchased a BEST warranty before the 2-year manufacturer warranty expired. As others suggested, I shopped around to get the best price and then called my local dealer and they were willing to match it. One thing you should be aware is that some dealers will try to persuade you to...

    Front Sprocket Failure

Seam Smoaks just put up a video showing him changing the front sprocket. He's posted something similar in the past, but this video is a good "State of the Front Sprocket in 2022" summary. Topic of interest beings as you approach 3 minutes into the video.

Now or Wait Until Spring for First Oil Change?

Thanks to all that responded. Looks like more people suggest doing it now than waiting until next Spring. Winter starting to come a little quicker than I had anticipated...so may need to wait until Spring after all.

Now or Wait Until Spring for First Oil Change?

Despite living in South Dakota, I ride all year as long as there is not snow on the ground. My wife on the other hand likely won't be riding from October through March...despite having heated seats. One more incentive to move after retirement!

Now or Wait Until Spring for First Oil Change?

I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question. My wife's 2021 Spyder RT has reached 3000 miles and is ready for its first oil change. I plan on taking it to the dealer to get it serviced. Given that she's likely not going to ride much during the cooler months her Spyder is likely to sit in...

Do the 2021 RT Ltd's have a belt idler? If not, which one fits? Best?

My wife and I have a 2017 RTL (no idler pulley) and a 2021 RTL (with factory installed idler pulley). I barely notice any belt harmonics on our 2021 but maybe that because it's extremely noticeable on the 2017. BRP nor most after-market manufactures don't advertise that the idler pulley will...

    Too much air pressure?

For what it's worth, the service department at my dealer brought up that the Kenda's seems to wear a lot quicker when overinflated (30 lbs vs 28 lbs likely isn't his definition of over-inflation). Anyway he encouraged me to stick at 28 lbs or go just a little under...but never overinflate. On a...

    Can I install 2021 F3 Handlebars on a 2021 RT?

Like many, I replaced my wife's 2021 RTL's handle bars with the F3 Stock (the part number you would want is 709402241) due to the newer models default larger reach. For the switch, I had enough cable length so that I didn't cut the zip ties but at times I wish there were a little more slack in...

Do you wear boots when riding?

I'll occasionally wear regular shoes for short trips on city streets (work, store, etc) but always wear boots when I hit the highway. You just never know what rogue rock, bug, or debris is going to be coming your way. The same rules apply with a helmet...my forehead can take-on a bug at 30 MPH...

    Kenda kanines?

I replaced all three stock Kenda tires with the KR20 Kenda Kanine late last year and have about 4000 miles on them. My overall impression is these are MUCH BETTER tires than stock in terms of how they handle (I just put 1500 mile on them this past week during a Black Hills visit). With only 4000...

    Black Hills South Dakota Routes

I've stayed at that hotel like you said...when it was new. Murdo geographically is a great town to stay when heading west and wanting to get into the Badlands early. That Auto Museum isn't half bad either. Trying to convince the wife that we should drive through the Badlands on Friday when the...

2021 RT Limited BajaRon Sway Bar - DEFINITELY WORTH IT

This (lower center of gravity) is probably the best explanation as to why the the 20/21 just rides better with the OEM anti-sway bar. I don't think we'll be going with a BajaRon bar on our 2021 but the improved stock ride on the 2021 has convinced me I need a BajaRon bar on my 2017.

F3 bars on 2021 RT base model?

For those that have swapped the original bar with the stock F3 bar on our 2020-21 RTL...did you have to clip the ties? I'd rather not clip ties if I don't have to but slightly concerned that the cable to the grips might be a little too tight. Signed, Paranoid Me.

Short reach bars on 2020+ RT

Alright folks, I finally got the F3 Stock handlebar put on my wife's 2021 RTL. It took me longer than I had expected as one of the socket head screw that go into the top cuff snapped in the thread when I removed it. I spent part of my day with a screw extractor and then finding a exact...

Short reach bars on 2020+ RT

Thanks for the summary. This give me confidence in doing this myself and I ordered the part. The local dealer thought it could take up to two hours (he wasn't sure if the cable length would suffice) and the potential labor costs worried me.

Wife wants a Spyder, need some advice on any auto trans problems?

If it's just a "how to handle a clutch" issue that your wife has and isn't sold on a 3-wheeler, you might have her consider the Honda Rebel 1100 with DCT along with the Spyder. That's what I would buy if I didn't have the Spyder (I've been spoiled not riding with a clutch the past few years)...

What Loud Horns are available for Spyders?

I have the same horn and so far it's the only option I've considered. No issues with mine for the past couple years. On a side note, I've never used my horn as much as this May and June with a few close calls. Perhaps a year of pandemic and not driving many places, drivers just aren't looking...

I'm in my early 50's and my wife would kill me if I told you her age!

Short reach bars on 2020+ RT

For my wife, we've decided to go the stock F3 handlebar route (#709402241) For those that have swapped the handlebars themselves, how difficult is it? Assume I'm capable but come with lack of experience. Also we have a late 2021 Spyder RTL. I heard in the 2020 that some ties had to be removed...
