• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

F3 or 2020 RT topcase dimensions?

Another consideration is what to do when your water bottle empties into the top case. These things are water proof. After draining my spillage I drilled a hole in the deepest part of each channel (there are two channel) to provide drainage if spillage happens again. All hidden from view...

    Wheel alignment specifications

No, not everybody agrees. Some suggest that poor ryding technique is too often blamed on tyres or something other than self. It is way too easy to blame and appear to be a skilled and well informed ryder. It's good to remember that much of what we read here is personal opinion and not...

    Kill Switch Sensitivity

I have blocked my kill switch from ever switching off by inserting a length of plastic zip tie behind he switch. A small amount, just long enough to grab with pliers, is visible. Having the kill switch kill everything at 100 km/ph on the freeway because it was accidentally bumped when adjusting...

Tyre Question - Different Topic... advantages using different tires front vs rear?

It is from having explored those individual tyre adhesion limits that has made me ponder the value some put on something so changeable. If each tyre is adhering differently to it's partners at any given moment, surely the focus on matching the tryes is overstated.

Tyre Question - Different Topic... advantages using different tires front vs rear?

I sometimes ponder the coefficient of friction being different beneath each tyre at any given moment, and whether that is factored into our 'same brand/size on each axle' thinking. Spyder Nanny handles each tire's contact with the road individually. Wisely so I reckon.

    2016 F3-S Conked Out - Any suggestions?

Your symptoms sound a bit like water in the petrol.

    You need this

Ok. My key fits into a pouch that has a key ring attachment, as supplied by Can-Am. I suppose your key attachment would shorten the key and make it easier to carry along with other keys on the same ring. Hmmmm! Good idea for some.

Aussie Oil. What do you use in 1330?

Penrite has served many many Australian motorcycles flawlessly for many years, including me. Australian product equivalent to the best in the world. 10-40 with 'motor cycle' specifically stated on the label, is the usual for Spyder 1310cc. Also as specified in Can-Am's manuals.

Can I use Mobil1 10W/40 Synthetic oil (Not MC) in my Spyder?

Sure you can use it, if you don't want full protection designed specifically for motorcycle engines.

    Kill Switch Accidently Killing

Thanks. My thoughts too and thanks for the background. I'll make no comment on the logic of locating it where they have. So, now I'll put a match in it or sylastic to stop it ever being accidently switched, ever again, lol.

2020 RT, What should it sound like ?

Same for my F3 Ltd. Gear box mechanical noise I reckon. Way too loud to ignore.

2020 RT Limited - rpm/whining noise issue. Anyone else?

My 2020 F3 does the same from the right hand engine/transmission side. Quite loud too. 4000 km and still loud. Update: the noise starts at about 77 kph and gets really loud after 80kph regardless of the gear the bike is in. It's hard to believe that the belt is responsible.

Interesting resolution to the Parking Brake issue

Thanks for the thoughts. Low battery voltage appears to be the root cause of numerous 'hiccups' that we need to be aware of.

    Kill Switch Accidently Killing

Three times now, since moving to a new 2020 F3, I've bumped the Kill Switch into action (non-action?). Once when adjusting the cruse control and twice at stand still while fiddling about. The first time came as quite a surprise and thankfully I was only exiting our home garage. Switching the...

Will a bad Gearbox Position Sensor cause a Spyder to run rough?

I've been without me GS Se5 for about 2 months now while the workshop searches for a fix, following the gear indicator working its way up and down from 5 to R on numerous occasions. When it hits R the engine starts cutting out but recovers when the indicator goes back into forward gears. All...
