• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone tried "Speed Bleeders" brake bleeders?

This company is fantastic. I too got the wrong size (M8) back in December. Went to install them today and realized they wouldn't fit. One phone call and the correct size (M6) are on the way. They are even including return postage for the wrong ones. Apparently BRP changed the bleeder size from...

Love the Forum but Reading the Manual

Don't know if these are available as E-Books or not but the series "Leanings 1,2,3" By Peter Egan, are a great read. Ya, they are about 2 wheel motorcycles, but the stories are short and very entertaining. They are a collection of articles he wrote over the years for Cycle World magazine.

    Battery Replacement 2015-RT-Limited

A big +1 for STAR washers. When I was in the Pro Audio business, STAR washers solved a multitude of problems from mounting connections to bad grounds (noise). A miracle cure and must have for all audio rack building.

    Tire age

Couldn't agree more. And per your recommendation I did buy the Q-5 in a 205/60-15 My only concern in the OP was the age of the tire I received (3 1/2 years old) I guess it's not that big of a deal but will wait for Vulcan tires response before I have it mounted. Thanks Mike and all

    Tire age

I had the same experience when I bought the fronts from Tire rack. Tires were about 4 months from Manufacture date. Unfortunately Tire Rack doesn't carry the Q5 in the rear tire size.

I've reached out to Vulcan tire (via e-mail) about this. I will let you know when or if they respond.

    Tire age

Just received a Vredstein Quatrac 5 from Vulcan tire with a manufacture date code of 4216 Should I be concerned with the age of this "new" tire? Also are there any mounting suggestions for this tire. It has a blue stripe around one edge of the tread. This is for the rear of my RTL 205/60R15...

    Extended warranty

It's my understanding that the dealer cost for the 3 year BEST warranty is $600. So anything under $700 would be a deal.

    Tank Bag?

On a trip to Texas a few years ago ( on a two wheeled BMW with a tank bag) I photocopied the pages of the route I was taking and just swapped them out as I went along. This gave me the opportunity to say "that road looks interesting" and divert from the GPS.

    Tank Bag?

Great responses. GPS is great, but I also like to refer to a printed map' (old guy, old school) so the one from Cyclemax looks to be a good choice. Thanks to all.

    Tank Bag?

On 2 wheeled motorcycles we call it a tank bag. What would you recommend for a 2017 RT "tank bag"? Something with a clear map pocket and room for "stuff" Thanks

    Trailer Harness

If you are looking for a constant 12VDC at the trailer you won't find it. The 6 wires going into the control module includes a red 12Vdc, wire however only 4 wires exit this module and they are Ground, Running light, left turn and right turn.

    RT Trailer wiring harness

I just had a similar situation and here is what I discovered. To get the OEM wiring you need 3 pieces because BRP doesn't sell it as a complete unit. #1 is what I call a Y connector (BRP calls it a module harness) part # 710005823 this connects to the Spyder wiring harness and provides a...

    Y Connector

You are correct. The Y connector, which is referred to as a module, is part #710003200. However when going to purchase it on BRP's website, it is packaged with two zip ties and becomes part #219400893 @ $39.99. Go figure By the way, the picture BRP shows for this part is actually a picture of...

    Y Connector

Found it! The Y connector alone appears to be #219400893 This is for the 2010-2017 RT Now if I can just get BRP's website to play nice.... Thanks to all

    Y Connector

I recently purchased a used BRP OEM trailer hitch and it included 2/3rds of the wiring harness. I have the taillight converter, BRP part# 710003903 and the trailer pigtail BRP# 710003272 What's missing is the Y connector for connecting to the bikes wiring harness to make this a true "plug n...
