• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Hard Starting

Went to go for a ride yesterday and my 2012 RTL didn't want to start. I hadn't started bike in about 3 weeks so that may have something to do with hard staring. When I went to start the engine would spit and sput like engines with carb would when flooded. Had to crank engine over for probably...

    Thread Locker

    Thread Locker

Awhile back I had to remove the left front fender on my 2012 RTL to repair wiring for lights. I noticed when I removed the 2 bolts that they had some kind of thread locker on them. In my infinite wisdom (NOT) I thought it wasn't needed, so I replaced without locker. Well I was riding the other...

GPS: To use one or not to use one ????

GPS Problem I have a 2012 RTL with Zuno 660. My problem with this, and all GPS units I have used is that they always try to route you to interstate highways. Even if you are miles from interstate they will try to get you to turn around or turn left or right. I like to travel the back roads not...

    Brake Light

Anyone had a problem with the brake light staying on after taking foot off brake pedal. I have a 2012 RTL and sometimes after braking the light stays on, when this happens I can lift up on pedal and it will go out. I have looked at linkage and don't see anything binding, I lubed everything and...

    LED lights

My 2012 RT limited has a LED light strip (blue in front and red in back) on the top of the front fenders is this stock with bike or aftermarket add on? I bought the bike used so don't know exactly what bike came with. On my bike the left strip is out. Local Spyder dealer is saying $280 to...

Dual USB Power Outlet in Dash

Bob didn't know there was power in the Fruck. Are the wires for this under the Fruck liner, and if so do you know what color they are? Also do these run to the back of bike somewhere? Would appreciate your input. I have 2012 RT Limited.

    Power for GPS

I want to mount my GPS (Garmin Nuvi 1450) on the dash of my 2012 RTL. I bought the mounting bracket from JT for mount but my question is where can I tap into for power. Thought about getting power from hot and ground leads on fuel gauge but don't know if these have enough amp's capacity to power...

    Brake Pedal

I have a problem with the brake pedal on my 2012 RT limited. Was riding today and went to set cruise and it wouldn't set. Because of having same problem on another bike I put my foot under the brake pedal and lifted up and problem solved. I have also noticed a number of times that brake light...

    Ethanol Gas vs non Ethanol

Where I live (Eastern Kansas) most of the gas stations only have gas with 10% ethanol, a few have gas without ethanol but it is 87 octane. According to owner manual for my 2012 RT limited I should use 91 octane gas. Question is should I use 91 octane with ethanol gas or would it be better to get...

    Another GPS question

Bob watched you video before posting question. What you did is great idea, but as they say different strokes for different folks. I am going to relocate GPS either to the left handlebar or on the left side of dash. Have had in this location on a number of bikes and it works for me. As I...

    Another GPS question

billybovine The mount, the part the Zumo clamps to, and the bracket, that bolts to the handle bars, are 2 different pieces. You would reuse the mount in the new location with new way of fastening to the dash. Many have done this same thing and if you do a search you may find something and likely...

    Another GPS question

I know, I know, there are hundreds of questions about GPS but I have got another. I have 2012 RT Limited with Zumo 660. Would like to change location to left side of dash. So question is how to power? Yesterday I unbolted holder from center of bars to try to disconnect power cable there, no go...

    GPS location

Guys I guess I am just a stubborn old fart......I would still like to mount GPS on left handlebar if possible. I have mounted GPS units in this location on a number of bikes that I have had in past and this seem to be best location for me. It's close to you so you can see screen, you don't have...

    GPS location

I have a 2012 RT limited with Zumo 660 GPS located in center of handlebars with standard mounting bracket. I don't like this location for a number of reasons, number one being I have a hard time seeing and I don't like looking down and taking eyes off road. I have had a number of bikes on which...
