• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone with a cramp buster on foam grips? What size cramp buster?

Be very, very careful with the cramp buster. I had one on my CTX700, and it is very easy to bump, resulting in unwanted acceleration. The second time it happened, I removed it. In another situation it could have been a disaster.

Gas cap locking difficulty - any ideas & help?

I second this. The Lamonster cap is much more attractive and I see no reason for a locking cap on my Spyder. It also makes it much easier to insert the gas hose.

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

Front Sprocket Recall Just got my front sprocket recall notice from BRP. It says an interim repair service procedure will be available starting June 30. Parts for the final repair will be in very limited supply and gradually available starting August 30. If you had this repair done at your own...

Do Passenger armrests lock in place for ryding?

I have the BRP armrests on my 2019 F3L. They lock in place and are released with a lever. They only swing out a little, maybe 30 degrees. We don't bother as you don't really need them to move to get in and out.

Is training really needed to ride a Spyder?

Get the BRP sponsored training, if possible. Best 50 bucks I ever spent.

Too old? Trying to be realiistic.

I, too, am 76. Could no longer do 2 wheels and bought a new F3L. I still miss the easy handling and sensation of the two wheels, but with the Spyder at least I can continue riding, hopefully for many more years. Not worried about ever selling. May even get a new one in a few years. I would buy...

Hey Guys..new to this site... problems with gas/gas tank?

I was worried about this as well and replaced the stock cap with the one from Lamonster. No worries and it looks really cool.

Foot brake - comments sought from taller Ryders

The F3L has a more cruiser style seating position which may be more to your liking.

Who is a former Goldwing rider?

Pretty much my story without the Goldwing drop. Went to a CTX 700 for a while. After several more years, even that became heavier than was comfortable for me. Then got the F3L so I could continue riding. To be honest, though, I would go back to the Goldwing in a heartbeat if my legs could handle it.

    The hated stone chip!

I guess I'm not like you, because I can easily think of many things that are worse.

Suggestions on which Stick on Convex Mirrors to get?

I have been using them for years. A 2" blind spot mirror in the upper outer corner works just as well or better than the fancier options available.

    Gas tank fill ups

I don't worry about it. I may have to stop sooner, but so what? I probably need to anyway

Spyder And Two wheels - how hard to switch back & forth?

I also rode 2 wheels for decades and had both at one time for awhile. Once you are comfortable with the Spyder, there is no issue switching. Kind of like switching between a car and a motorcycle. They are so different I was never confused.

    Little oil use

Since about 1990, none of my vehicles, both cars and bikes, have used any oil at all. I still check it, though.

    2021 S2S motor blew up!

My 2019 F3L shredded the oil pump gears at 5000 miles, but was able to limp home. Due to probable further damage, BRP replace the engine under warranty. Took awhile to get it back.

Hate to be a party pooper but...

Hi, Greg. Been there. Got my F3L for the same reason. Hated it, but hated not riding even more. Eventually we came to an agreement. I would stop trying to ride it like a motorcycle and it would stop trying to put me in the ditch. It took me over a year before I stopped hating it for what it was...

Do you wear boots when riding?

    yup, I sure do.

    2 up riding

When I ride two up I start hearing strange noises coming from the back of the trike. Often it sounds something like "that curve was posted at 30 and you were doing almost 40". Similar sounds often emanate from the rear at irregular intervals
