• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    F3 Saddlebag Solution

Do you have an idea as to how many liters each bag is? Are they rain proof? Really look sharp.

    Vee Rubber Tires?

I'm running Bridgestone Re-92 fronts... Absolutely fantastic. Toyo Proxes 4 in the rear (discontinued) which has been the best car tire I've tried. The Kuhmo sucks compared to other rear tire choices. I found the Kuhmo to be far to greasy on wet roads and hydroplaned bad.

    Sad news from Michigan...

Wasn't it Mike that the first year Lamont's IPS came out - He went around the parking lot at the hotel swapping everyone's IPS from spyder to spyder?

    Sad news from Michigan...

I'm equally at a loss here. It sucks getting older and seeing people you care about pass on. Spent enough time with Mike - breaking bread and riding that he, among others were the only reason I cared to go to the rallies. That chance to hang out with him was worth the ride and time. I forget...

Tongue Weight Of A Trailered Spyder RT?

Bingo. It really depends on your trailer. But really, Most any RV is going to be able to tow a utility trailer (open or enclosed) with a spyder on/in it. Tongue weight is one of those highly subjective things. You should have between 10% and 20% of your gross trailer weight on the tongue. For...

    2008 Spyder, antifreeze overflowing?

Two more things. There is another part of the cooling system that is known to fail on the GS/RS. There is a plastic four way merge "Connector" that is also prone to cracking from temperature cycling. Part # 709200151...

    Would you buy one?

Well. They have gotten 3/4 of their financing in order which bodes well. The 84MPG claim isn't reality yet. Elio is claiming they have achieved 81.4 MPG in current testing on the current design. CEO is also claiming that if they went to production right now the price would have to be $7300...

Anyone have the Size/specs of the side hard cases?

To be honest, nobody who came from two wheels stores their helmet in the bike but on it/locked on it/or they take it with them. The BRP marketing machine made everyone think that just because you could fit two helmets in the frunk, or one of the side cases that indeed that was the intended use...

Anyone have the Size/specs of the side hard cases?

Whoa... 6.5 gallons is 24.6 liters. That is 10 liters less per side bag than the current BRP/Givi side bags that most of us have. So... Small trunk, smaller stock BRP side bags, and the mono seat storage is only 1 gallon/3.78 liters. So the rub is this: If you go aftermarket bag mounts...

The 2015's - My Thoughts on the Negative Reactions

But with the 991 she'll be stopping for gas before the 2014 RT's. That was another reason many of us want the 1330 in the ST. In the ST it will give the RS a run for it's money and finally give us the range.

The 2015's - My Thoughts on the Negative Reactions

YES. The 1330 isn't new anymore. I bought a 2008 GS new out of the crate didn't I?:joke:

Anyone have the Size/specs of the side hard cases?

Anyone have those specs? How many liters? Is BRP watching this sub forum so they can put together a quick FAQ?

    Trunk Space

Why do you think you haven't seen a picture of it yet? For the exact reason you are asking. They know what the compromises are and the longer you don't have to dwell on them the better. I see a lot of interesting aspects of the F3, but the small trunk is a big compromise for sure.

Suggested Spyder Model / Model Year

Depends on if you are looking for used or new. There are a lot of well sorted out 08/09/10 GS/RS models out there with aftermarket comfort and bags added that have a good maintenance history and decent mileage. First you have to determine whether you want an RS/ST/RT/ or F3 in order to narrow...

The 2015's - My Thoughts on the Negative Reactions

Well said, but sometimes a manufacturer builds and markets one product while neglecting to advance another in order to drive unit sales of the new shiny one. In BRP's case, that may prove successful. I've wanted more power and range for a long time. The RT isn't for me, but the ST with the 1330...

    2015 Can-Am Spyder Line Up

The GS/RS and ST all have the same tail... Lots of people have the Givi top cases. For me the V46 Givi top case is the perfect size... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.86318554877.107078.705214877&type=1&l=4967d7c0a7

CALL FROM DISCOUNT TIRE... Ref KUMHO ECSTA AST

It was slippery from day one... On wet roads it is greasy under too much power taking off. After about 5k miles she started hydroplaning very easily. I got 11k miles out of my Kuhmo - But I'm pretty hard on tires. In contrast, I think the Kenda is better in standing water at higher mileage than...

    2015 Can-Am Spyder Line Up

As I look at the F3 I have a hard time envisioning a top case that looks decent unless they offer a mono seat and integrated top case of sorts.... Sorry, but I love me my top case and the ST actually looks good with one.
