• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    More MPG info

That is actually why I started tracking mileage. When I first bought my Spyder, I read numerous posts about the fuel gauge being notoriously inaccurate, i.e. bouncing all over the place, etc. I also read posts when on EMPTY, one time it only needed 3.5 gallons to fill up the tank and another...

What the HECK was I thinking last Fall?

Prior to owning a Spyder, I owned a 1994 Goldwing. Yes, the later models of Goldwing included many nice things. The engine went from 1500cc to 1800cc; better audio system (my 1994 had a built-in cassette player - LOL); redesign of the shell to give it a more aerodynamic look; etc. But it ran...

Wish you hadn't said that.... LOL.

    2014 RT issue

I am amazed the variation of wear and tear I have seen amongst the various Spyder owners. Several weeks ago, I was at the dealership and ran into a nice couple who both own Spyders. Her Spyder was a duplicate of mine (2012 RT-S) and she was replacing her rear tire. Both of our Spyders had...

What the HECK was I thinking last Fall?

What the HECK was I thinking last Fall? After BRP announced the newly designed 2014's, I thought long and hard about it. Even with the riding season almost over in Ohio, I wondered if I should spring for a new Spyder even though my 2012 RT-S SM5 has been a pleasure to own and operate. Then...

Does anyone know of any foldable trailers?

Well - Would help if they had the specs on their website where we could all read and learn. But, I am telling you - it won't work based upon what I saw in the link you provided. Just curious...you saw from afar? And you don't know the price? You don't know when it will actually be available...

Does anyone know of any foldable trailers?

I can't believe it is wide enough... Sorry, but looking at the video and pictures, I can't believe this is wide enough. Maybe its the angle the photos and video were shot from, but would help if their website wasn't so broken. It would help if the manufacturer showed the specs on their...

Does anyone know of any foldable trailers?

Got this Answer from a Kendon Dealer GOT THIS ANSWER FROM Motorcycle Parts Superstore AFTER I RESPONDED TO THEM CALLING THEIR CUSTOMERS STUPID and implying my question was STUPID (with no hint they were going to respond with a correct answer to my question)...

Does anyone know of any foldable trailers?

Does anyone know of any foldable trailers?

Not suitable if I am reading specs correctly.... First, thanks for your suggestion. However, I followed your link and the manufacturer's specs state #800 lb compacity (or am I reading this wrong - which I could be). Funny, the weight capability isn't more obvious. Maybe they are talking...

Does anyone know of any foldable trailers?

The dummy doesn't even know their own product line Thanks for your suggestion. I am looking into both the Kendon Trailer and the Drop Tail. However, I wanted to share an amusing story with everyone on Spyderlovers.com I found a Kendon trailier on Amazon that I thought would fit the bill, but...

Has anyone had a Spyder stolen?

Curious - with the programmed keys - is it possible to steal a Spyder? Just curious if anyone knows of an incident where a Spyder was stolen where the thief did not have access to a key? Do you know of any incident where a Spyder was stolen at all? Reason I ask - it seems the 2014 require the...

    2012 Spyder RT-S SM5 Gas Mileage Chart

I'm not a long-distance rider nor do I ride in foul weather. 75% of my purchases are local so I go to the same gas station. You are correct, I do not look for the same brand on my travels. But I do look for the highest octane. In many instances that is only 91. But I always buy 93 if it's...

First fill up on my RTS 31+ MPG

At the end of the day, you are getting what I am reporting, 30 to 31 m.p.g. I do look forward to hearing your 2014 Spyder report. I am waiting till 2015 but whatever you report, I know will it will be informational.

First fill up on my RTS 31+ MPG

Virgin olive oil is recommended but hard to find a virgin today! Canola oil is cheap but will get the job done! Stay away from popcorn oil since the additives included will cause your Spyder to run rough as well as cause the exhaust from your Spyder to turn yellow-orange!

    Blew another rear shock

Isn't it unusual to be having this type of problem - repeatedly? Am I missing something? I was unaware the stock shocks were a problem? I know there are great after-market shocks, but isn't it unusual to be having this type of problem - repeatedly?

First fill up on my RTS 31+ MPG

Sorry, but only keeping records will tell you the true story. After 1,000 miles, let us know. Judging on one fill-up is misleading. Your off to a a good start, but I could tell you about the time I got 40 m.p.g. (followed by the worst fill-up I ever experienced). Sorry, but only keeping...
