• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Airbag OK? Had the same problem with oncoming drivers flashing their lights at me. Talked to the mechanic today. He told me not to touch anything until the new airbag is installed next week. When inflated the airbag tosses the back end of the Spyder up. That lowers the aiming point of the...

If your Spyder is currently in the shop for more than 2 weeks post here

54 days Purchased RT Audio/Convenience SE5 on May 15. Towed it back to the dealer May 19 for oil leak. Got it back into my garage July 10. Took 54 days to replace a clutch cover gasket. That's probably a record for such a simple job. Service folks told me the same day that the airbag is...

    Dumb Question for Today

If PAUSE means GO! and -- RESUME means STOP! in Quebec, what do red and green traffic lights indicate? When you say "No, don't supersize that." do you get a 5-gallon cup of soda and a 6-pound cheeseburger??? I think I best stay away from there. I'm confused enough as it is. I think the RT...

    Dumb Question for Today

Joke's on me! I think, read and comprehend in English. Not Canadian. That was/is the problem. You press ERASE to zero a trip meter and the mileage is reset to 0.0. Then to get the trip meter to start tracking mileage, you have to have PAUSE showing, not RESUME. That's bassackwards where I come...

    Dumb Question for Today

I've reset trip meter A to zero by pusing ERASE. Then I set the meter to RESUME. But the main display continues to show 0.0 and doesn't compile any miles. The owner's manual is of no help. Am I not pushing a secret button or something??? Thanks in advance...

HAPPY WORDS HAPPY WORDS HAPPY WORDS

The RT is finally back in the garage after 54 days to replace a clutch cover gasket. Clutch recall is finished as are some other service-bulletin activities. Two shakedown cruises totaling 185 miles in the last 2 days. Everything seems to be in order. Can't tell you how nice it is to feel the...

    My new BRP trailer

Since I'm at Day 53 without my new RT SE5, I hated to see the new trailer sitting unused in the garage. I found a couple uses for it --- The tractor has 4-wheel steering, so the trailer is easily manueverable. But the 150cc Vespa bogs down a bit and without VSS wobbles like crazy above...

    Trailer price

Price depends on add-ons Mango Mike -- Title and tag will cost you $59.90. Those are state fees so they'll be the same as in St. Augustine. Cost of the trailer is widely variable. My dealer added $150 transportation charge, $128 dealer prep -- probably to help cover cost of assembly -- and an...

Updated Info on RT/RS SE5 clutch "fix" campaign

Special tools needed for recall Here's an excerpt from the e-mail sent by the service desk at my dealer yesterday: -- Yes the tools came in on Saturday that were supposed to. The two tools that we received were the clutch holder and the crank holder. The new tools that we are waiting on, are...

    Insurance Rates

Stacking is the way to go If you have multiple vehicles with State Farm, stacking the policies together drives up the premium on one of them -- but only slightly. Stacking combines the coverage for uninsured motorist or PIP protection under one policy. Stacking drives down the cost of premiums...

    ??? re: clutch recall

My dealer claims that the latest delay in getting my RT back to me (after 47 days in the shop) is that the clutch recall requires a special tool -- which of course they don't have and had to order. Anybody know anything about such a tool??? Personally, I think it's just more effluent from the...

    Insurance Rates

Who can beat my Spyder in captivity?

Full Moon Silver RT SE5 -- purchased May 15. Towed back to dealer on May 19 with 35 miles on odometer and an oil leak. Haven't seen it since. That's 3 days of ownership, 42 days held hostage! And more days/weeks coming due to clutch recall. I think I win.... Things I've learned about BRP since...

Updated Info on RT/RS SE5 clutch "fix" campaign

Thanks for the info Since this involves my '10 RT SE5, I called my local dealer. They had heard nothing about a clutch recall. Service person is going to check and call me back. I thought my tranny was having a difficult time locating neutral. Perhaps that's related, perhaps not. Gotta solve...

Thanks all -- -- for your kind words. I'm not sure where this journey is taking me but somewhere I haven't been before, to be sure. BRP finally gave up the name of my case manager today. So tomorrow should be interesting. Assuming I can get through the jammed telephone service -- :cus:. I've...

Brought the RT home May 15. Dealer towed it back May 19 for oil leak. Haven't seen it since. 22 days later and two recommended...
