• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Unwanted burnouts with new tire - anyone else? Advice??

So I just put on my first General Altimax RT43 after having 2 Kendas. I was hoping to be able to get a machine balance but even with the bearings removed the wheel just wont fit on any of the machines at the 3 shops I went to, so I did it myself with the axle on jackstands. Next, I tried to...

Annual Parks Sticker Location 2018 RTL

You can usually get any sticker off by warming it up with a hair dryer but are you sure you need to actually put it on the bike? I know with my Mational parks pass I keep it in my wallet and just show it and my license at the gate.

What do you think - will changing rear tire AND bearings allow balancing?

Well after removing bearings and getting tire swapped we found that the balancer machine shaft on most newer machines is just to fat to fit through the axle hole and also too narrow to reach the other side of a 10” hub. So I guess I’ll be doing it with the axle on a stand like I did the last...

Adding Foam grips over RT Heated grips - will they still work OK?

I’ve had them for 3 years now and I’ve ridden in rain at 40 degrees and the heat level is fine. I didn’t think they would last this long but now they seem to have conformed to my hands.

What do you think - will changing rear tire AND bearings allow balancing?

Actually the reason I got new bearings was bc I read on here they didn’t last long, fortunately they are cheap. The old bearings feel good but I’ve already removed them. I think that the shield will work as long as I’ve got enough clearance, I’ll be checking that carefully. I was having trouble...

What do you think - will changing rear tire AND bearings allow balancing?

I’m in the middle of swapping out my rear tire and thinking since I’m changing the bearings at the same time that the wheel would fit on a standard balancer machine.Has anyone done this? Also I’ve been concerned about Little Rock’s getting trapped under the air bag so I fashioned a piece of tin...

Ultimate Trailer - Any input appreciated??

I did a lot of research on trailers before I bought one last May.I ruled out several brands of easy loading types because I felt they were too complicated with too many parts to possibly break.I wanted to get an Aluma but they were unavailable near me at the time.I went with a Triton which is a...

Ferry Crossings - do Spyders need to strap down?

I crossed over to Nova Scotia years ago on the Cat Ferry(high speed hydrofoil) and bikes were directed to an area where there was a big pile of large ropes. We were told to strap in which was interesting because there was almost nothing to tie off to.3 hours of very rough seas and the Venture...

Why is my 2019 RTL getting poor fuel economy

Ok heres my 2 cents,,First I wasnt even aware that any Spyders had a MPG readout but obviously they are about as accurate as my clock.Second,Ive been keeping track of mileage for every trip Ive taken since new on my 17RTL which is always 2 up,and on the highway which I always drive 70-80mph I...

Anyone tell me what Codes P0556 and P0504 mean? Fix?

P0504 is brake pressure switch, P0556 is brake pressure sensor, probably due to battery being dead, give it some time and it should go away.

RTSE6 Trans Drain Plug Stuck - any ideas to get it undone??

Pretty sure that plug is 6 mm Allen wrench, not torx.If you still can’t get it you maybe could try to get a channel lock on it or maybe tap it with a hammer and chisel.Warning, you will be causing damage to either the plug or the engine casing so you might want to take to a dealer if your not sure.

Little noise coming from the engine (?) around 3000~3500 rpm (but Spyder runs fine)

This is an interesting noise but may not be a problem. What I would do would be to get a mechanics stethoscope (maybe 5$)and start touching different parts until you find the source of the noise. As a former transmission rebuilder I have worked on thousands of those type solenoids. Yes they can...

Do I need a dealer and BUDS to reset my fault codes??

When the problems go away the light will go off but just in case clear the codes by disconnecting the battery and touch the positive and the negative leads together for 30 seconds to clear the memory from the computer. If the same codes come back you definitely have a problem.

    More tire frustration

Ok,my 17RT has Vredensteins on the front which seem to be holding up well, although I just had to get a Roadforce balance job done in order to get rid of a pesky vibration problem that Ive just been living with for the last 13k miles.Last year I got a Kanine Kr20 on the back which has been worn...
