• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My situation as new RT owner

Sounds like you've pretty much got it under control. The only things I might offer is that you can get tire pressure monitors that work thru your phone, also Im not so sure about the need to carry an extra belt, maybe Im wrong but I have yet to hear of anyone actually being stuck on the road...

Gasoline question - will Regular harm the Spyder?

Being a fully certified technician for 30 years you develop a certain feel for the engine and whats going on inside of it. My Spyders 1330 engine has told me that its fine with 87 octane out on the highway just cruising. But lower speed more spirited, twisty or mountainous driving on hot days it...

Need a Seat Strut with more lift - any suggestions?

You can search back thru my previous posts, I think it was 2 years ago I posted all the part numbers needed for the seat and also to double up on the trunk struts. Those parts came from McMaster Carr online, very cheap.

    Helmet Communication System Options?

Wow, that Impulse looks good and has a lot of features standard. My wife has a 1 year old Outrush, but this one seems much better, can't wait to see the price. I have the 10 c evo, it has a camera which actually works great, so that's not going anywhere. I still have a pair of Sena 10s which are...

?? Convert direct wire electric liner to battery

Hunters wear battery operated heated gear but they don’t have the wind taking away the heat problem like we do but they might be ok for milder temps and you could carry extra batteries for long rides.

CB antenna hole cover Part Number?

I covered both antenna holes on my 17rt by getting metal flags that measure about 2x3. They have double back tape which has held them on for 2 years now. There are many stores on eBay that sell all sorts of designs of metal badges.

Arcimoto - They're at it again

Wow that hurt my eyes, first you see the front of that contraption and then the back half gives you a kill shot. I think a warning would have been appropriate.

Where to get car tires mounted

I took my front wheels off and had new tires swapped by a shop that had a Hunter Road Force balancer. This is the first time I can truly say the balance is correct. The back wheel is a different story, if you take it off and unbolt the rotor any shop can swap it. If you can find a shop that has...

The Dragon Slayer (Hwy 160) Lynch, KY to Virginia

I stayed in Lynch in September and rode the Dragon Slayer many times. It’s a fantastic road. There are hundreds of miles of amazing roads in eastern KY.

Does replacing exhaust & air filter need a computer Reboot?

The stock air filter is not very restrictive at all so changing it wont make any difference, not on this engine because its already a pretty good design. Changing the muffler without deleting the cat will up the noise level slightly but because the cat is still there you will still have some...

2020 RTL BAJA Ron Sway Bar Vs Stock Vs Shocks - your experiences?

Just remember that as you add these items to reduce lean you will be stiffening up the ride as well. Sway bars will have the least effect on rough roads and shocks with stiffer springs will have the most effect. I too would like to reduce body roll but am still debating wether its worth it to me...

    Don't Look Up!

I just got done watching it and thought it was very good. I don’t like Meryl Streep and she got what she deserved.

    Squealing noise when turning steering

Well this fix is really strange. I’ve been using Rotella for a couple years with no noises and have a 2.5 gl jug which I will use until some weird noise happens to mine.

Foot brake - comments sought from taller Ryders

I’m 6’2 and I’ve never liked the foot brake but have gotten used to it and feel very comfortable. I am still thinking about that handbrake as a great add on.

    Squealing noise when turning steering

I fail to see how the alt or alt drive coupling could be squealing. I think the first thing to do would be to see where the noise is coming from. The DPS is in front of motor and the Alt is behind so I would listen with a stethoscope if possible. Can't wait to hear the solution.

Need a New battery - what type: Lead Acid, AGM, Gel?

Whatever you put on there if you hook it to a battery tender you will get a lot more life out of that battery. I got 7 years on my GW.

Need a New battery - what type: Lead Acid, AGM, Gel?

The original style battery always lasts the longest for me. It’s more about the way you maintain it than the type.
