• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rough ride

I do know that Im adjusting ride height,my 17 rtl is not automatic, you have to push button and you see a bar graph on dash with 5 bars that show the level you choose.I choose 1 bar for interstate bc with the rear down low it causes the caster angle of the front suspension to increase just...

    Rough ride

I know you know your stuff but Im not looking to improve the ride,I just dont want to make it much worse.Im sure the cornering will be better which is what I want but not if its gonna ride a lot rougher on standard country roads.Ive tried every possible combo of tire pressure,I only ride 2 up...

    Rough ride

Thanks for responding,Im not over correcting,I got past that about 21k miles ago.You didnt say when you bought your shocks but Im only concerned with shocks that are new bc Im hoping that Elka has solved the problem with the leaky seals.Im not sure what you mean when you say that these shocks...

    Rough ride

Ive been thinking about getting a set of Elkas for the front of my 17 rtl,Ive already got the sway bar but I still feel that in high speed turns if you make a slight correction it kinda wants to over correct and then your not holding that nice steady line thru the turn and the bike is swaying...

Considering Going From 2 to 3 Wheels

If I could offer my opinion here,I ride my RT much more than I rode my other bikes in my life bc Ive simply got more time now(semi retired). As far as rain, with the wide front and the electric windshield I feel they handle rain better than any bike Ive owned, but your passenger may want to wear a...

    New design Kenda front tires

120$ to replace the fronts is way too much, but the rear is much harder bc you have to deal with that belt.Ive got Vredsteins on front and a new Kanine on the back and they are all working well and smooth too.I remember when I had a Gold Wing I only got about 5k before the rear tire started...

    Transmission plug stripped. UGH!!! Help

When I had my transmission rebuilding shop I had to remove hundreds of plugs that were overtightend by the last person to change the fluid.I am guessing that you stripped the socket hole in the plug bc it was too tight. Here is what I would do.Get this thing jacked up high enuf to get some room...

RT vent kit on 2014 RT

I put the kit on my 17 rtl 2 months ago. I found the instructions to be only useful as a guide and the template no use at all. I didn’t cut openings at all bc there is a huge amount of air flowing through even if you don’t cut the holes bigger.Glove box cool and crotch cool and temp gauge...

my version of frunk release mod

I put a picture hanging wire onto the lever just like you did, it just doesn't have an outer sheath. I routed my cable down to the area where the left shock bolt is, and I formed a loop at the end. If I need to, I just reach behind the plastic with one finger, snag that loop, and pull. FYI, if...

Camshaft position sensor - fault code due to oil?

I’ve replaced about 100 sensors like this in cars and also the one on my Spyder, what happens is the area where the wire goes thru the plastic body of the sensor degrades due mostly to heat and some oil may seep thru.Oil is not a conductor of electricity but may cause some issues, the real problem...

How do I Disassemble the fuel pump assembly - 2008 Spyder GS990

That looks like every Gm fuel pump module I’ve ever replaced.I would take that down to my local mechanic and ask if he had any cores around that maybe you could take the hoses off or other parts.I wonder if a parts store could match it up to a common pump style.I think Rock auto has pics on...

    Riding in western Virginia

I stayed in Clintwood for a week and rode all the roads in SW VA and a few in west Kentucky. This is a great area for twisty mountain riding with fairly good road surfaces.Freeman maps.com has some good paper maps that he will send you for free(shipping 1$ each)and quickly.Only problem is you...

Rear brake Pad Change frequency on RTL 2014+

I changed over to the Ebc pads bc I wasn’t happy with the original pads at 18000 miles. The old pads looked great ,hardly worn but the new pads are quieter, stronger and cleaner.

    Love that pedal commander

There is no actual throttle cable, you rotate a handgrip that has switch kinda like a light dimmer and that sends a signal to the computer to open the actual throttle butterflys by using a motor that rotates the butterflys. This unit simply takes that signal and modifys it to send a little more...
