• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brake pad rubbing noise - what is the correct way to fix this?

I worked for decades as an automotive dealership technician on European, American and a few Japanese vehicles. Whenever I did brakes or had a customer with a new vehicle who complained of brake noise, I inspected the brakes and performed the following. Remove calipers and pads; clean off all pad...

What is the number of hours required to assemble an RT?

If a Can Am dealer can entice a technician into their service department for a career move the cost to the end customer is justified. Every dealer is looking for help continuously. Hiring skilled labor is notoriously challenging in today’s job market.

Pete many technicians don’t understand some things relating to the vehicle because for one reason. They can’t afford to buy one of every product they service.

    Error Codes P0222 & P2135 + Plug pics - corrosion?

Caig Labratories makes a product called DeoxIT D5 that is a fantastic liquid electrical contact cleaner. You can buy a small bottle on Amazon. A little goes a long way to melt that corrosion away. Afterwards you can apply the dielectric grease for long term protection. Be sure to coat the...

Are Dealers 'dumping' New-Old-Stock Spyders instead of selling latest models?

It’s quite common to find brand new unridden motorcycles and any outdoor power sports from prior years for sale in the dealerships no matter what the brand. It’s the nature of the business as the economy ebbs and flows.

Slingmods Adjustable Backrest - who has one and what do you think?

I have two Show Chrome Grande seatback rests I purchased through SlingMods. I’m 6’4’ and had to actually adjust the backrest slightly forward for my best comfort. My wife is 5’5” and sits so far forward her back did not touch the backrest even if fully adjusted to its furthest position. I...

How Long did BRP take to contact you after your Spyder purchase, if at all??

I didn’t expect anyone to call me or send a survey from BRP so I wasn’t disappointed.

How does Can-Am Test New Spyders? Should I be concerned?

I highly, highly doubt they run a brand new motorcycle to that speed. I think it just might be a remaining artifact from performing a full sweep of the instrument cluster in its initialization process. Perform a reset and don’t worry about it. Many new owners probably reset their initial...

Review: Check out this Slick RT/F3 Trunk Light

Both my 2021 and 2022 RT Limited’s have LED trunk lamps installed at the factory. They only operate with the trunk lid open and the ignition key ON which for me is a problem as well as the low light output it provides. I picked up a 3 pack of battery operated similar style puck lights at a local...

Why doesn't BRP design a stronger Anti-roll bar?

The Spyder is Canadian. Their highway speeds are much lower there than the USA. I found it absolutely miserable driving in Canada. Maybe that is why?

Can Am paint shows marks - any advice on removing them?

I was at a local Costco recently and came across a new item there from Turtlewax called Mist. It was a three pack of various car care products for about $10. The included Mist minute wax worked remarkably well on covering those minor swirl marks on the black rear deck lid. The rest of the bike...

My 2020 RT-L is throwing a VSS Code on starting - could this be a weak Battery?

My 2022 RTL developed this problem. I made an appointment and the Service Manager said that after inspection the technician could find nothing wrong, and that the battery tested good. I gave him some information about battery diagnosis and computers on vehicles that basic tests would not show a...

Saddlebag Release Handle has snapped off! Anyone got part #'s or names? Help to open?

I replaced my own on my 2021. The 2 cables cost me around $130 if I recall right. My cables rusted through and snapped on a Saturday evening. On Monday morning I learned my warranty had expired on Sunday. They weren’t able to get them covered under the original warranty. The original cables...

    Bad Honda Dealer

The dealer’s parts department computer showed that they had a part in stock on the day you called. It would have been beneficial to put that part on hold for your upcoming appointment.
